Should we rewrite PLR articles?

I am using article marketing robot and currently am only making variations of the title for the spinning process.

However was wondering if I should rewrite the PLR article body content? I know maybe stupid question...however I just recently learnt that the duplicate content thing was a myth and that it only applies for duplicate content on your own website. Meaning that perhaps 100 backlinks containing the same article content will still get credited. What are your thoughts?

Well if you can get the directories to accept duplicate articles, I guess it will be OK unless Google de-indexes those pages

How often does that happen Google de-indexing duplicate content? I heard that there are many duplicate content on the web and they are still sitting there.

It is always better to put your own touch on any PLR that you have...make it more your own.

The only time you have to worry about the "duplicate content" myth is if you publish 2 exact pages of content on your own site.

There are countless pages of content that are the same published out there but on different sites, directories and blogs.

      Hope that helps a bit.

    Thanks for your reply.

When I mentioned not re-writing PLR articles I meant for the article submitter, not for my own sites. I write articles from scratch from my own sites. So on that note, I guess when submitting to thousands of directories using the program, it really wouldn't matter if I add my own touch to it would it?

I do change the title so it can be spun in different variations but that's it. What I'm wondering though is if I get 100 backlinks pointing to my site all coming from article directories with the same body content, would Google de-index some of those pages over time or quickly (and thus deleting my backlinks)?

    Thank you for your help.

No one knows and can say for 100% sure what Google is going to do.

I publish articles in a few sites for syndication purposes and don't chase backlinks, so I don't want to say this or that works.

I know what works for me...top notch articles....first published and indexed on my own site, then submitted to some directories.

I don't spin articles either .. don't believe in it.

Wow so you just reply on syndication for getting backlinks? That must take awhile for people to pick up your article, or even if it happens right away would it really spread like wildfire every time?

I've had high quality articles on directories and months went by with fingers crossed while only a couple websites decided to post it on their side.

Google disregards 99% of links from article marketing sites.

I tested this for 3 years.

I discovered that ONE LINK in the content of my own blog to another one of my own related page was worth much much much more in the eyes of the Google algo.

Don't waste your time with PLR - start blogging hard, or autoblog - whatever....just write.

If you don't take my advice and waste months of time and money on pushing PLR content, you will regret it later.

You might even think back to my little two cents worth here and think.....

Are you talking about article directories backlinks being useless?

Well I don't want to start an arguement with you here, but what you say is going completely against the facts.

I have no idea how you did your testing for 3 whole years, but the fact remains that people are achieving top rankings (on the top 3 results on the first page) with backlink from article marketing sites. They also stay on the top for ages.

Have a look at all the people that are using article marketing robot and you will see how many are raving about it for the simple fact that the backlinks that they get allow them not only to achieve high ranking in just a couple weeks (not months) but also allows them to get page 3 results in as little as 24hrs.

I also think their is a misunderstanding on what I meant by using PLR articles. I didn't say that I use (or would ever use) them on my own blog or sites, I was just wondering about using them for use with the software so that that PLR article will go out to thousands of sites.

I'll prove one thing to you. The site www.CarlOcab.com was started by a 13 year old blogger 3 years ago. At the beginning, he used article marketing software to get article backlinks for the term "Make Money Online". That strategy alone contributed about 80% to him getting 2nd place for that term within 9-10months. I have personally talked to him.

I personally think you should relook at the power of article marketing for backlinks. They are even more powerful than backlinks from social bookmarking sites.

I'm all for quality too, I know that 100 quality backlinks (in result of contacting websites) is probably equal to 1000 or even 2000 article directory backlinks, but it takes ages to get 100 quality backlinks for a specific term.

Those are just my 2 cents worth.
