My backlinks are not showing?

Has anyone noticed that even after doing an using an article submitter to do a submission than even 2 weeks later you are not getting even close to the amount of backlinks from articles that were approved?

For ex, I use article marketing robot and I know I am using it like everyone else (who are getting great rankings). I did a submission to 1200 directories and 400 got approved.

2 weeks later I check my page I backlinked to and it shows a total of 6 backlinks. This doesn't make any sense. I generated a report to get the URL's of those 400 approved articles and I saw in fact that there were many (much much more than 6) articles that actually got indexed.

I don't know why I am seeing such low amount of backlinks. I understand I may need to backlink my backlinks for the articles that have been approved but not indexed, but still I should have received more than 6 or so backlinks after a 2 week period.

Google shows zero backlinks when you have thousands, Yahoo shows 500 when you have thousands. Nobody shows all your links they show a tiny fraction..........you have to just keep building links

I'm pretty sure (almost certain) I have less than 200 backlinks for one of my pages at this point, however it is only showing 6 with all the checkers I tried.

Also, does Google discredit backlinks to an ezine article or youtube video when they are built too fast? I just created an uploaded a youtube video for a popular term and I'm just submitting to thousands of directories multiple times backlinking to the same page.

It has to be done at a steady pace, not just a one time shot.

NOTE: on newly registered domains, it would be better to wait a while before you blast them with 10K or 20K profile liinks, for example. Start slow for a week or two (500 links) then go all out if you want

If you are using a newer domain, you could create free blogs on places like blogger or wordpress that link to your domain and hit them with the millions of links instead of your main domain. Those kind of sites can handle the mass income of links without penalty and the links will trickle down, ultimately helping your main money site.

Thanks. However what exactly did you mean by those sites can handle those amount of incoming links?

Would the same technique apply for using a youtube or ezine page or is a wordpress page backlink better?

  A youtube video or ezine article could do the same thing I just personally use free blogging services.
  
  What I'm trying to say is these other sites are more established and google expects them to get many, many links at once. On the other hand, if a new website all of a sudden gets this many links, google could flag it since it looks really fake. EDIT: If a website is flagged it could very hard to rank higher for it.

Listen to what Frank said. It is all about consistency, sometimes it can take months for backlinks you built to show up. All depends on how frequently the pages you built the links on are spidered.

  As the guys above, just keep building links, preferably high quality ones. I also get really frustrated sometimes checking my links when they don't show up. I think partly this is because Google hasn't indexed those links yet which is why they are not showing up. This doesn't mean that Google doesn't count the links though just because you can't see them. Just stick at it.

You can see most of your back links in your Google webmaster tool in the "Links to your site" section.

For one of my site Google webmaster tool shows 9,784 links but there is only 51 back links showing if i used this string in Google link:Mydomain dot com

So each and every links are accountable.

Don't worry, continue with quality links.

Don't use google with the "link:" tool because it will show very little backlinks (about 1%, I estiamte). Always use yahoo because it updates regularly and it shows many backlinks

Keep on building links. Also..please note that if you have quality links you will be indexed in a better way. So...while linking try with good PR websites.

I know many people are under this situation when they submit hundreds of artciles but get only few backlinks from the sites.It is normal.even though the articles are indexed by google already,But i think it needs some time to show it up in google webmaster tool. just don't worry about it and keep building links.It should be okay.

Submit your website in webmaster tool and submit a code in your html page then after verify the code. If you have any backlink check in webmaster and see.

Google "link:" operator does not shows all backlinks. so please don't rely on that. Second thing is that when you search the backlink for any sites on different tools you will get different number of results. This means that no tool is perfect. Please dont bother about the backlinks and try to continue link building in sites with good PR. Always remember that every links are useful and it counts when it comes to ranking.

First of all you have to check that that sites are dofollow or not it they are then check they are crawled or not .. there are several reasons behind it, and one thing more Google not showing your all backlinks so check them in backlinkwatch or in Yahoo.

Google does not show all backlinks for sure rather it just shows snippets of them. If you want to see most of your backlinks than I think seo spy glass can do the job for you but it is a paid tool. Backlinkwatch is a free tool but it also don't show complete backlinks but works fine

Always use google webmaster tool to check your site backlinks. Google generally hides your backlinks so it shows up less even if it has indexed more.
