What next? Google page1.

Im on google, Im going for a 2 word keyword (example-text.org). My domain does have a highfen, and is a .org status. I've made the site and subpages 1000% organic content, and I've managed to get to page 1 and rank #6.

I suppose it would have been better to start my SEO on one of my domains that has no dash, and is a .com from what I read. This is my first expierement, and I am doing well seeing the above results.

Due to the dash and org, should I give up at position 6? Any recommendations on what google really loves? Maybe get a bunch of 2.0 sites?

Yahoo explorer shows 9,500 backlinks to give you an idea of my bl power.

My page rank is pr3.

Any info would be appreciated, thank you

    You are doing well, great stuff.

    My domain australia-hotels.net has been on google page 1 for over 12 years. Always in top 10 position. If you have made it to the first page, be careful you don't over rank yourself and get penalized. You can lose it as quick as you got it.

      I agree, I over-worked my domain and it fell from top three page 1 to stuck on number 1 position on page two. All advice is that I went too hard at it and was penalised. Now I am approaching the task differently from more obtuse angles.

        No, no, no and NO!!

        I don't believe that for one second. NOT AT ALL. Maybe you had some new content published and you were higher at one time, or maybe your competitors were doing things better than you! Just because you don't have a position that you WANT doesn't mean you were penalized. In fact, I believe it is very RARE to be penalized by google.

    Google and other search engines don't discriminate against any domain extensions. That is just a myth, ignore it.

    The hyphen is good, keep it, you will be okay. 9,500 back links is good, how many do the people above you have?

    How many pages do they have on their site, is their on site optimization better than yours?

    Web 2.0 sites.... social bookmarking.... press releases... articles... do it all! I'm sure you can keep crawling up!

      One of the sites has 94,899 inlinks according to yahoo siteexplorer, the one above it has 3,513 inlinks (weird). The one in the # 1 position has 1,771 inlinks. All the sites are horrible looking. I have about 1,700 words on my homepage, all content was written from whats within my head. Im a really good designer, just lacked in seo and thought I would try it out. idk what else to do at this point
