Yahoo Answers Not Showing Links?

I recently joined Yahoo Answers, as recommended by many warriors.
It is really nice, and I can answer loads of questions esaily in my niche, without saying any BS.
I have one problem though, it seems as if my links aren't active.
Is this normal, as these are my comments? The url's I place in the sources aren't hyper-linked, yet for everyone else's posts, they appear blue & H-linked.

Any Thoughts?

Does it still count as a backlink, even if it isn't hyper-linked?

Thanks

    1. The links are not active because you are a new user.

    2. I believe those are nofollow links.

You need to reach level 2 before your links will become active. The links you already posted while still being level 1 will get activated too at that time.

As mentioned earlier, these are no follow links, but in the right niche, the links on YA can get a lot of traffic. I have a few sites that get me around 100 visitors a day only from YA, which is about half of the complete traffic for that site.

To put a clickable link in Yahoo Answers you must have a "Level Two" account and I think you need to have 250 points.

You'll find many threads giving information/advice on this. Many people recommend giving links in only 10% of what you answer, to avoid a ban.

Put the word "Yahoo" into the search function, search this section of the forum only and "search titles only": you'll find plenty.

Roger that....I'll go easy on the links lol.
No follow/DO follow, doesn't matter, links are links...
I have managed to get some high PR backlinks from some news blogs recently, very encouraging.
The bummer about backlinking is that it's pretty much a brain dead activity.

edit: I've just thought of another question...Does it make a difference if I put the link in the source box or in the text? It would seem more credible to put them in the source box, no?
How do people get banned from Yahho Answers anyway? They get reported a lot?

Yahoo Answers gets you about one targeted traffic to your site. Sure it doesn't help with rank but salespeople have to work on a scale of one person at a time too.

YA and Twitter are the best two sites to get one targeted traffic at a time. You can build a business off that although for Adsense it may be better to get untargeted traffic to increase Click Out rate.

Stay within the rules at Yahoo Answers and only use the resource box. 250 points, is realy 150 since they start you out at 100 points. Therefore, you need 75 answers, or 15 Best Answers to get to 250. You could do it over a couple of days. Not sure why, but Google likes Yahoo links. You can get click throughs from your answers. It's a supplemental, very minor link building strategy. Oh, and don't use your link on EVERY answer either.

Don't put any links inside the answer area, put your links on your resource box so you won't be flag as spam. And, don't ask people to click or visit your link. Just write something that will make people click without asking them to click.

You have to reach level 2 or 250 points so that your links will become live. 3 days of answering you can surely reach that level. Just be patient.
