Domain Question - S's

Hey guys,

I've been doing SEO for a few years but have a rookie question!

If I'm looking to rank for a keyword that ends with rewiews. However, someone already the exact match domain has been taken.

Will Google and other search engines look as keywordreviewsite.com the same since there is an s at the end of "review"?

The search engines would interpret it as reviews, would they not?

  I think they would. A lot of times when you search for a word in singular term you get plural results.

  You will get counted for 'review' if that is what someone searches for. In the same way that a lot of sites will simply have an 'x' at the end of the url because someone else has aquired that exact keyword that they were also looking for.

It's not the same as the actual keyword. However, it's semantically related so you will still be included as a related result.

Google looks for context when determining the most relevant results for a query. If it sees a lot of related keywords: "Review", "Reviews", "Reviewed", "Reviewing", etc. on your site, then it knows that you are a site that reviews stuff.

Exact match domains aren't an end-all-be-all for ranking, they only help with ranking for a keyword phrase faster.
