SEO help

Ok,

So, I cannot figure out this whole backlinking and SEO stuff. I bought the SEOPRessor plugin for my wordpress blog which is great so I can make sure that every post is SEO optimized, but I still don't think my site is optimized.

I can never seem to find any of my sites pages when I do a keyword search for something I just wrote and placed on my blog using SEOpressor.

Is there a SEO for Dummies manual or guide I can buy because this SEO thing has me whipped!

Check over in the WSO's and freebies section. There are tons of books and stuff on SEO. When I first started with SEO about a year ago, I thought it was some kind of foreign language. It's actually quite easy once you do it a few times. To me it's rinse and repeat just like everything else.

As far as backlinking, I prefer to do manual backlinking on my niche sites for the first week. Then I use an article submission service to "drip" my well-spun articles to other blogs and such.

By doing this, none of my niche sites (knock on wood) have been Google slapped recently.

I think the first step you need to take, is ignore 90% of what is said about SEO. If you're starting from scratch, you need to learn the basics. Don't even worry about drip feeding, indexing through rss feeds, don't even think about a link wheel, link pyramid, link push, stick with the very basics at first.

Learn on page optimization, that is step one. Once you do that, and fully optimize your site, I suggest coming back here and asking this question again... One step at a time or you are likely to suffer from information overload, frustration, and become extremely aggravated
