[Case Study] My way to $100.00/day

This is my first ever case study, and I'm doing this because I'm too excited to sleep.

On April 22 I picked a niche to jump into..

Main Keyword [33k Exact Searches]
Secondary Keyword [22k Exact Searches]
Third Keyword [18k Exact Searches]
Fourth Keyword [150k Exact Searches]
Fifth Keyword [3k Exact Searches]

Competition
#1 Site - PR 5 (An authority site that's going to be hard to outrank)
#2 Site - PR 3
#3 Site - PR 3
The rest are PR2-0 sites that I'm not really concerned about.

I registered a exact match domain for my main keyword knowing I wanted to rank for my main and secondary keyword not for my third, fourth, and fifth keyword.

Here are the results so far -

Main Keyword [#4 position on #1 page]
Secondary Keyword [#4 position on #1 page]
Third Keyword [#7 position on #1 page]
Fourth Keyword [#8 position on #1 page]
Fifth Keyword [#15 position on #2 page]

As you can see, my results are significant. This website along will bring me well over 100.00/day if the rankings stay as they are. If they go higher, I have no idea at the earnings I can be making.

Now the site is new so It may bounce back, or it may go higher I have no idea but I'm going to keep everyone posted.

The most important part of this case study is the way I'm backlinking. I'm going to update this post once a day to keep everyone updated and the exact steps I'm using to backlink.

This is a new backlinking strategy for me and as you can see the results are huge.

Update #1

Main Keyword [#3]....... Up 1 Spot
Secondary Keyword [#4]......... Stayed the Same
Third Keyword [#6].......... Up 1 spot
Fourth Keyword [#7]........Stayed the Same
Fifth Keyword [#11].......Up 4 Spots

So far so good, the results are staying high. Will keep you posted.

Update #2

Bad news everyone - my rankings dropped.
My Main keyword is sitting at #36 and it gets worse from there.

I went back to monetize my website for a CPA offer to make some sales...
- I edited every post to make it more appealing..
- I made 2 more pages
- I used a post's content to create a page and placed the same content on the page

Within maybe 2 hours I made $10.50 in sales than later my rankings plummaged. Did I make a mistake by doing anything from the above?

Any feedback is great, will keep up with the updates.

NEW UPDATE-- MUST READ
This case study is dead in it's tracks. I realized why the site dropped and why it won't be coming back up anytime soon. I made some awful mistakes so don't laugh when I mention them. (I was new, and still am)

First mistake, I heard that .biz weren't too hard to rank so I registered EMD of a .biz.
Second mistake, My first AMR blast to I forgot to spin sending out duplicate content everywhere.

But none the less, went at it with a new keyword very similar and have had great success. 6/6 of my keywords are in the top 5 positions bring me about 300-500 uniques/day.

Trying to monetize so my earnings are low at the moment. 0-20 a day.

Update #3 - Backlink Strategy

The Auto-mated Programs I used
-Scrapebox
-Article Marketing Robot
-The Best Spinner
-Linklicious (free version at the moment)
-Bookmarking Demon (might try Autopligg later)
-A Private Network

Now I know I'm being cheap by using the trial of linklicious but once I start earning more I'll be able to grab the pro versions, along with senuke x.

My Backlinking Plan

First week/month

-100 Manual Social Bookmarkings (Do-follow)
-1000 Directory Submission Package
-Scrapebox blast to money site (Let goog find them naturally)

This gives you site a quick start, and you can complain about the scrapebox blast to money site off the start but it's given me nothing but success because it looks natural. Of course new sites are going to get low PR sites to money site off the start.

Next week/month
- This is where the hard work and dedication comes to play, but it does work.

I would just like to note this is what I do, and you can implement any method you don't like with something else. I'm new so obviously I'm going to have some errors in my steps.

STEP 1
Write a UNIQUE article, and spin it with The Best Spinner. You can either auto-spin it or do it manually it doesn't matter. Obviously the more readable the better.

STEP 2
Come up with a list of about 10-20 Web 2.0 sites and post a spun version of your original article on the websites - You can add videos/pictures as you wish. Instead of doing a linkwheel style, I publish 2 links both to my money site.

Step 3
Collect Links from web 2.0's

Step 4
Write a completely new UNIQUE article and spin it With The Best Spinner and submit it to AMR with only the PR1+ article directories while linking 2 links to the web 2.0's randomly.

Step 5
Come up with a list of about 6 Doc Sharing Sites and turn a spun version of an article (the first article) into a PDF and put 1 link linking to money site, 1 link linking to a random Web 2.0

Step 6
Bookmark each web 2.0, approved article, and each doc sharing post.

Step 7
Find about 10 Microblog websites and post a spun version of the first article with 1 link to the money site, and 1 link linking to an auto-approved article. (this will cause make the linking strategy diverse and unique)

Step 8
I make a new UNIQUE article and spin it manually with The Best Spinner and submit a spun version of the article to some of the popular non-approve article directories, Ezine, goarticles, etc. 1 link goes to the money site, and 1 link randomly floats through the microblog posts and auto-approve articles.

Step 9
Bookmark the microblog posts and the non-approve article directory posts.

Step 10
I Then create a new UNIQUE article and spin it again (auto-spin). Grab all the livelinks from all the steps above and use them as my backlinks and blast a full AMR run through about 3500+ article directories.

Step 11
Use a private network where I can get about 10-15 livelinks from spun articles being submitted with links going to money site and Web 2.0's.

Step 12
Bookmark the livelinks from the 3500+ article directory submission and the private networks and even throw in some bookmarks directly to my money site.

Step 12
With all the livelinks I have from everything, I create RSS feeds and ping them using Linklicious.

Step 13
I have a blog commenting list of about 800k that I use to backlink every single one of my backlinks that I have created. My keywords are scraped so I have a variet of about 100 of them to use. I also have about 110 well-spun generic comments I use.

Step 14
I Xrumer to backlink all of my live backlinks just as I did with scrapebox.

Step 15
I haven't done this yet but I'm going to start creating rss feeds/ping my forum profiles and leaving my scrapebox comments to get found naturally.

Complete

After everything is complete, that's just 1 successful push I do. Every week I complete 1 of these to the website.

Any questions? I'll try my best to answer them.

Update # 4 Rankings
- Coming soon!

Hi. If you don't mind, I was wondering if you could fill us in on your new backlinking strategy you talked about.

I have a a few fairly nice ways of backlinking I use on brand new sites but I'm always up trading ideas and I'll start.

I always add new sites to linkmarket.net and then I never request a trade with anyone but I confirm every trade request that gets sent to me. 30 days after the other party has backlinked to me, they'll get a message to take down their backlink to me because I never added them. The great thing is that most people never take it down out of laziness. Worst case is you get a quality one-way backlink for 30 days and best case is you get one forever. I know it's kind of semi-shady but I don't really feel bad. They can take down my link if they really wanted to.

      1. Yes I'm doing this on wordpress

      2. For my keyword strategy I use the same 4 keywords every post.

      3. Each post is targetting my main keyword, but the other 3 keywords are my keywords and tags

I always get happy about people's wealth, because I see that they are doing what I'm doing, and they are doing it for the best, because they worry about their future, family, friends, etc. But as you said, it sounds a little fishy, I work hard day from night to promote my website, and suddenly I see something like that...

Achieving p1 within 3 days with from the keyword with 33k exact searches???

You didn't mention about the competition of that keyword, and i think it's absolutely not low comp kw.

If your site stays with that ranking, your backlink strategy is absolutely genious.

If you're having that much trouble getting indexed, start building some backlinks to the site. Squidoo, hubpages, EZA, articlesbase, goarticles, articledashboard, social bookmarks, putting up articles/bookmarks here will get you indexed much faster.

Besides, it gives you a head start with your backlinking campaign!

Agree, it's honeymoon ranking, but at least you got an idea of how the site performs on page one and now have the motivation to really work on getting it slowly back up.

About the CPA thing, I still have a lingering suspicion a site of mine got slapped after I put CPA on it. Probably not, but I haven't touched CPA since.

That's Google Dance you're seeing. Your site will rank HIGH and FAST in the very beginning, especially true with keyword exact domains, and then drop in the ranks, ALOT, a couple days later.

You just gotta keep pushing on it and let it go climbing back up again. No shortcuts.

Traffic will come sooner or later if you're persistant.

As for sales/CPA leads, I would suggest you set your best page as the Home Page and the keep tweaking the copy to increase your conversions. That's another way to make more money with the same traffic.

Then you need to set another page as blog page, there's where you start adding more posts, sniping more long tail keywords, and then link your visitors back to the home page to monetize them, remember to use anchor text for On page SEO purpose!

I second that, sounds too good to be true and too fast especially for a 33K exact search phrase.

I don't think you made a mistake. I'd keep everything as it is and continue backlinking. What probably happened is that you are doing what is called the Google Dance. Search that phrase. When you accumulate backlinks too fast or strong, you tend to drop in rankings for a bit. Could be a week, two weeks, two months. It won't be forever. And when you bounce back you come back stronger. If you KEEP link building, you will definitely come back way stronger. That is my experience. When I see my rankings drop like yours, I celebrate, because I know that means about going to have a climb in rankings sooner than later. It's a good sign in my book. You can dodge this by controlling link velocity, but I don't have time or the scripts to micro-manage that. So I just hit it when I can and expect this to occur.

Not sure what to tell you about On-Site Seo other then Make sure to include your keyword in title, bold it once in each post and try to include it about 2-4 times in the post.

It doesn't matter for theme, any theme will do the trick. The one I'm using is a free theme but can't think of the name off the top of my head.

I actually haven't, it's been sitting there no matter what I throw at it, and I came up with a couple of reasons why so I've kind of left it dead in it's tracks for now.

But I did start a brand new website, and its sitting between 2-5 for 6/6 of it's keywords on each term having 5k+ exact searches for awhile.

I figured it would be the same "Honeymoon" that happened to my first site but it's sticking up there.

But this is pretty much a dead case study as I just checked. I'll post why in my main thread.

Also, with that competition, it could just take a while longer. In 6 months, who knows!

I guess so, I'll keep throwing links at it.

I have 2 websites that have dropped off the map for about 2 months so far also, wondering when they're going to come back.
