climb out of the sandbox

This is my first post here and I wanna thank you all for the great advice I've been reading during the past weeks in this forum. Seems like this is a place for winners to be.

I've been seriously working on 3 websites since the start of the year now. I monetize them through a combination of Amazon and Clickbank. Adsense has bought in such pitiful amounts that I don't bother so much with it.

Right now, only one of these sites is doing well so I'm going to follow the advice of many here as a relative newb and concentrate on only one until it succeeds.

For info, my sites are niches, they are what I know and enjoy writing about and and with needs associated with them:

- alcohol & drugs
- music & becoming a DJ
- libido health

My problem is that according to all indications, Google has sandboxed 2 of these sites! It's actually the second time they've sandboxed the DJ site. My traffic from Google is almost non-existent and I basically depend on other resources.

I'm confident I'm doing everything right but very frustrated that 2 of these 3 sites (with around 100 pages each of good niche content) seem to slip right down and onto page 8 of the search engines after nearly reaching page 1 every time I get there! I feel like I'm spinning my wheels.

So far I've checked all the guidelines for not being sandboxed. I've built backlinks and some good content (people tell me it is).

Has anyone been sandboxed before and what did you do about it?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Maybe I'll get an idea of what is really going on.

I was wondering if your 100 pages of content is original content or maybe plr. With the new Google Panda Update recently Google is focusing more on sites that have original content and not duplicate or even spun content. I don't know if this is what has happened to you but some of my clients that had some auto blog type sites got theirs deindexed also. They are now trying to replace with original content.

Good luck. Hope you get them up and going good soon.

      Appreciate your reply.

I've never copied content fortunately. It's all completely original and from experience. I submitted my site for reconsideration and one of them came back to life again only to be booted back down to low rankings last week

      I also don't duplicate anything.

It's impossible to predict or know what's going on with G but all I do know is that:

      - if you play their unpredictable game right somehow, you get tons of great organic traffic and your earning sky rocket

      - if you don't you have to look for other ways: something I've been doing but it takes time and really I'd prefer to have G on my side.

      This resembles a sandbox situation.

If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate advice.

        Hi JRemington,

First let me say that there is no Sandbox. What you are likely seeing is simply competition outranking your web pages.

The reason you sometimes see new web pages quickly climb the ranks, only to drop after a short while, is usually due to the temporary boost of QDF. This is a temporary boost, not a penalty.

My advice would be to stop worrying about why you are sandboxed, because you are not. You are probably ranked right where you deserve to be ranked based on the strength of your competitors. Instead, focus on earning rankings through solid promotion efforts.

If you are building links too fast you'll sometimes plummet to the depths of Google. If this is the case I have a pretty sure fire way to get you back up to your previous ranking in a day or so. It may not last but PM if you think this is from link building and i'll let ya know what I do that works 95% of the time.

    Great answers above.

In regards to getting back to number one, it shouldn't take too long because you were already ranking there.

Create high quality backlinks from related, high-traffic pages using ethical methods and Google will be on your side.

Concentrate on Social. - Google is heading in this direction and with the right social bookmarking strategy (make sure it doesn't leave a footprint) you may be able to climb up to pg1 very soon.

It all depends on what your competition is doing.

Download SEO Spyglass and analyse page one competition, find patterns and replicate them.

    Thanks,
    Dave

If you backlink too much in a short amount of time they will kick you down =P simple.
best way to avoid this is to gradually / slowly backlinking.
    S.N. there is no sandbox
