Hi all, I made up a short video purely for SEO purposes as an experiment to see if I can get good results within the serps.

I did all the correct things for SEO and I am showing at #1 for the long tailed search term web design kidderminster but ONLY under videos. I wanted to get on the first page of the natural organic results for everything but it doesn't seem to show up.

Can anyone give me some pointers? Has Google stopped indexing videos for the web results and just puts them in Video?

Thanks

Hey, did you add an article to your video or is it just video?
Did you keyword have videos on the page already? It's good to pick keywords with video markers on them.

Also, did you send any backlinks to your video? Remember google is all about backlinks.

I don't send much backlinks to my videos. I count on:
      • The great and unique content
      • My videos are exclusive to my site only so if viewers want to see them they must link to it and come to the site
      • I use the social bookmarks below each video article
      • I look for high traffic, low competition keywords
      • The keywords are in the content you see on the page. Along with the meta tag info, also include the keywords in the url's
      • I make the titles catchy and use asterisk (**) at the beginning and end for the titles to help them stand out on Google along with the image
Just treat your video content as you would an article by adding a short keyword rich description. No meta info is added to the video. For an example here is a video article on my site:

2nd page on Google: Lawndale Art Center
1st page on Google: Houston Press Artopia
1st and 2nd page on Google (missing image on Google): Houston Winefest

This method worked so well for me, I decided to offer it to others by creating the article and video directory you see in my sig. The new site will help me create the quality backlinks I need for my content .

Build some backlinks to the video. This will surely increase its ranking in the SERPs. You can't solely rely upon what you have stated especially for more competitive keywords.

I'll do that, just don't have the time with everthing else I have going on.
