      That is just complete baloney.

Google loves sites that are huge, same IP, interconnect.

Ever here of go.com? gasbuddy? wikipedia? Amazon? Ebay?
      Failblog? About.com? Facebook? Cnet? etc.....

It seems to be such a secret that the BEST links one can get
are internal, and on your own network of sites. You'd be a fool
not to. Same IP or not.

        Hi Warriors,

I'm with Paul on this one.

Search engines look at each individual page as... well... an individual page. They don't care if the page is on the same website, same IP or same hosting service, it is treated as an individual page that is linked to other individual pages. The IP diversity theory is a theory with no valid basis in my opinion. An individual page passes PageRank, Trust, and anchortext value exactly the same way regardless of whether it is on the same IP, domain or whatever.

I think the notion of IP diversity evolved from a Cargo Cult approach to SEO. Backlink diversity is important, but it has nothing to do with your IP address and everything to do with the random surfer model. It is diversity in traffic sources that is important, not IP addresses.

None are mini networks. I mean less than 10 websites interlinking are considered as mini networks. No insult was intended.

Yes, as long as the IP addresses are different.

Google is aware of "shared hosting" and they know many users might share same IP with other websites on the net. However, not many sites will share the same IP. So if you really want to be safe, just ask your web host to create your hosting accounts on different servers and that will give you different IP.
