New site, Backlining Start ?

Hi, i have a new site that google just indexed it. Can i start building links ? Should I wait a couple of weekes before i start?

    If you have ideas about how you can build highly-relevant backlinks from home pages of reputable websites - put it off for a while. Start with less important backlinks (e.g. social bookmarks, articles, forums) - they will be indexed much slower, have less weight and your activities will appear more natural.

    i was thinking to start with blog comenting and posting articles (on ezine, hubpages, squidoo...and others like). Like 2-3 comments per day..... and 1-2 articles per day for the first month.

      This sound like reasonable link-building for a start. That's exactly what I meant by a natural start-up.

    I'd start with some social bookmarks and articles on good article directories (GoArticles, ArticlesBase, eZine, Buzzle, etc.) and maybe some blog comments of high PR pages if you can find them.

    Why do you want to wait? Start doing all kind of off page optimization for your site. If you get few links on high PR sites, your site will automatically indexed by Google.

    Hi. I think you can already start building links as early as you can so you're not wasting any time for your website to accumulate link juice. Linking to your homepage is not really a good practice like what the other member here posted, unless you are submitting your website to directories, classifieds, and the like. For blogs, forums, etc., it would be best to link to specific landing page because visitors are more interested on your content rather than your homepage. But be reminded to always look for "dofollow" tags when link building.

    Site indexing
    Social Bookmarking
    Forum links
    Blog Commenting
    Article Submission to major directories (ezine)
    High PR backlinks

    As you can probably tell, I like to build my links in order of power. But that's just me!
