There are many different ways of getting back linking, like Article Submission, Forum Posting, Directory Submission, Blog Commenting, Press Releases, and Social bookmarking.......

And these are my favorite methods of getting backlinks....

There are many different ways of getting back linking, like Article Submission, Forum Posting, Directory Submission, Blog Commenting, Press Releases, and Social bookmarking.......

And these are my favorite methods of getting backlinks....

Yeah and don't forget to contextual links as well as I'm finding them to work really well at the mo

But most importantly, don't forget to deversify them. Building one type of link will do very little help when it comes to ranking in Google

There are several ways to get backlinks you can find your own way to get backlinks but generally used ways to obtain backlinks are forum posting,article marketing,video posting,social bookmarking and the most spammy way of getting links back is blog commenting.

Best Method of link building is Make Submission in High Page Rank Sites and choose do follow Sites for submission. Some Good Methods for link building is-

- Do Article Submission
- Do directory Submission
- Make Press Release Submissions
- Make social Profile creation
- Do Forum Posting
- Create Blogs
- Make Submission in High Page Rank Sites
- Choose do follow sites for making Submissions

The problem with newbies are a lot of ways to build link, they will confuse and do nothing. Any method is working, and some may better another. But if you select some of them and do it often, you can see it works. I combine the article submission and post comments, do it every day, after 1 week I see the increase of ranking and traffic. My 2 cents.

If you find someone who have same niche with you, you can pay for footer text link too. I think it is an other way to get powerfull one way backlink.(Just pay for long term like 3-6 months or a year)

You definitely want to diversify the types of links leading to your site, but you should also stick to a method and really get it down before moving on to the next. Your first couple blog comments or your first press release are not going to be your best or most strategic. I would recommend really getting a handle on a backlinking technique, one at a time.

High PR Homepage backlinks.

.Gov and .Edu links. Not blog links on those domain either. I'm talking about footer, blog roll, or even contextual links if you can get that lucky.

@frank07 I agree its better to select a couple link building methods and stick with them for a while. There is only so much time in a day. I do social bookmarking and guest blogging the most.

A couple methods not mentioned are:

Software to shareware sites (PAD files).
Putting pdf or doc files on file sharing sites like Scribd.
Finding sites that may benefit from a link to your site and asking them for a link.
Making donations to non-profits who will link to donors.
Asking vendors and even friends and family for a link.
Creating a wordpress theme or plugin

Getting contextual links from private blog networks like Article Ranks, My Article Network and SEO Link Vine is very effective. These networks are pretty expensive though but worth it.

I have got many sites to page one of Google by using these sites.

I like article marketing and lately I have seen significant results using a service called Article Marketing Automation, you're allowed 3 links/article=>make sure they are contextual and use different keywords as links as well. Real people approve them and put the article on their blogs meaning that real eyes see your articles as well. I spin my articles with Rapid Rewriter.
