Not a big fan of Facebook advertising, but the ROI is generally pretty low unless you have a high end product. Remember $1-2/click adds up fast.

Not really, you need a really targeted product or page to be successful on Facebook Ads.

The demographic is completely different to Google PPC.

    Here's why..

Google is full of people SEARCHING for information. Your site appears on relevant searches to people looking for info or products. Your visitors might have a very high buying intent and thus you can make a profit rather easily.

Facebook is full of BROWSERS, they aren't even searching for the info you provide. They are just chatting to their friends or playing a Facebook game, not searching for websites.

So you get a lot of clicks from people that are amused by your ad, like your picture, want to know what you offer, etc. But they never really have any intention to buy at all.

So you pay for a lot more rubbish than you do with Google.

Hmm, usually I'm using CPM... and it is like $0.04 per click average. For me, I'd go for CPM than CPC =D

Social Media is having great importance in today's era. To attract the visitors or to receive good amount of backlinks, your advertising must be attractive & focussing on importance of your brand or business & it must be clear that you are providing something very best.

I would say YES, it would be a good idea. The emergence of social networking sites specifically Facebook is gaining a strong impact on the market and as such has already been used by a number of Advertising companies to promote products. People nowadays tend to access their facebook account for extended hours in which the chances of ads/promotions being seen is great.

The only thing is that with Facebook, it would be hard to have a targeted demographics as everyone from all ages, gender, nationality will be able to view the
campaigns. May be a plus for some, may be a drawback for others.

For any kind of PPC Facebook or search engines, its all about CTR and if your CTR is high your Clicks get cheaper.

Design your Facebook campaigns around giving something away of value for free in exchange for a list subscription. With the right "free gift" you can attract viral shares, and increase your sales via email campaigns rather than trying to funnel down someone currently being entertained into buying something.
