I guess their is no bad effect for your site, but keep in mind it's not going to help you for SEO.

I can't see how the effect would be any different than on moderated blogs - Other than that the auto-approved blogs will generally have more outbound links which dilutes the value of the links.

That's a generalization though and sometimes you can find auto-approve blogs with high PR and low outbound links.

All other things being equal, there shouldn't be much difference between them and a moderated blog.

I am totally agree that both the auto approved and moderated comments have the same effect but the value of link matters instead. An auto-approved blog with less outbound link and having good PR is good for SEO.

The problem, though, is that most any AA blog is going to eventually get hammered to death unless the admin is actively removing comments. (Which normally isn't the case on AA blogs.)

Auto-Approved blogs are more prone to spamming. So I guess it is better to stay on moderated blogs and blogs that needs verification first before your comment is posted.

The real answer is to not waste your time on that crap.

It will have an effect because it takes your time away from doing stuff
    that actually will be beneficial.

So what you really mean is that to stop doing blog commenting?

I think stop doing blog commenting is not an option, you can still leave comments to some blogs even if there's a moderator. It's definitely much better than leaving comments to auto-approved blogs.

Just based on Paul's answer. You will just waste you time in leaving comments to auto-approved blogs. Remember that those kinds of blogs are mostly spammy.

AA blogs tend to get spammed pretty quickly if the blog owner has abandoned it.

When commenting, I actually prefer manual approval blogs. Usually higher PR with very few outbound links. Sure, not all of your comments will be approved. But it's usually worth the effort in the long run.

Don't waste your time MANUALLY posting to AutoApproved blogs.

If you ARE going to post to AA blogs then you should link those to Web 2.0 buffer sites and not directly to your money site.

Again, don't MANUALLY post to AA blogs, its a waste of time.

I don't know if Google will catch on these auto approve comment blog sites, the way i see it is that this may also constitute a link farm, so it is best to have blog comments to sites that needs to be moderated.

There's no harm in automating the comments to AA blogs, but doing it manually would definitely be wasting your time like was already said. Also, these kind of blasts are best kept away from new domains. Instead push them to web2.0 or aged domains

why would they be bad? I don't think they will bring much traffic as most auto approve blogs are filled with spam comments.

The question then becomes.. how many spammy AA comments is equal to one quality High PR comment..?

Auto approval blog are not bad but you will not find any effect on your serp. Auto approval means it accept your site within second. Think once what the use of those links which are not helping.

These comments will still count as a backlink, the positive thing is that they are approved automatically (instantly!), but the negative thing is that a lot of other people submit to this kind of blogs and your backlink will NOT be so high quality like for example a backlink from ezinearticles

Which is why massive AA blasts are pretty much reserved for your lower tier backlinks.

    Guys!
My view point? I will strongly argue that auto-approve comments are the WEB2.0 version of FFA links?

And to be really opinionated, I think auto-approve blogs will be the next panda target or close to it.

Usually Auto Approved Blogs have a minor importance in SEO since those sites maybe spammed by huge number of other web sites. They are highly subjected to automated link submission software and the link juice obtained from such sites may not be worthy to boost your search engine rankings.

if spammy AA blog links are as useless as many say they are, what is the purpose then of trying to use them to power your buffer sites?
