Too many affiliate links!?

Hey, so here's the thing:
I have done a batch of review sites. The on page optimization was done and there were no article/review in the home page at all and my sites were ranking in 5-7th page. Only had 2 cloaked(301) affiliate links in there. 1 sidebar banner and 1 link in post.

But after i added the ~1000 word unique review to there and also like 5 contextual aff links + 2 hyperlinked images, my site disappears from serps.
And you know what? this happened to all of my 26 sites.

I don't believe it is a coinsidence.

What you think? Is there too many affiliate links?

I'll lessen the links and i'll let you know as well...

Doesn't sound like too many affiliate links to me.

Maybe you've been blacklisted for some reason, or maybe all 26 of your sites don't belong at the top of search engines for other reasons.

I have read somewhere that the recommended outbound affiliate links shouldn't exceed 3 -4 per page. But I have a website that has in excess of 20 per page. I was ranking #5 in SERP with do follow on all, then changed all outbound links to no follow. Went from 5 to #2, but was also doing a lot of backlinking then, so not sure how much it affected it. The domain is also about 10 years old.

Try changing yours to nofollow and give it a day or two to see how you go.

I have also experienced same. My site ranking dropped after i added 3 cj text affiliate links. It is a web hosting review site. I am thinking of removing the aff links. it may help regain ranking.

I always add no-follow to aff links. I just remove the 5 contextual links and only keep the 2 images + sidebar banner + h2 aff link in the end of the article.
    And see what changes

Each visitor is likely to be a potential customer for a unique range of affiliates - the more links the more choice.

May only need a good link on it, is nothing more than a good thing.

That's strange it happened to all 26 of your sites. How old are your sites? It could just be the google dance.

I have a site ranking in the top 3 and it has about 7 affiliate links per page. I don't think 7 affilliate links is too many.

So i removed 5 out of 9 affiliate links on all sites and all my sites are ranking higher than ever.

If the sites are new, it is likely it is the google dance. I try to keep affiliate links under 3 per page, but every has different experiences.
