I am wondering if duplicate links are "punished" by Google. You know...maybe sometime you forget where you have posted comments and do this again...same site same page...so there are duplicate links. Is this bad for google "eyes"?Or answer in a forum topic started by you...will be considered like a duplicate link? What do you think?

i don't think it may be reason of penalty, it's may be that you have posted a comment and again you need to reply of other user by posting comment so it shouldn't be penalize

      Hi,

I don't think that Google penalized for this but yes it doesn't give much importance. Mr. Google down the ranking of your keywords!

No "punishment", Google cannot penalise links most of the time, it can only accord them little or no value.

I did read something somewhere that I could not substantiate but it was a theory that Google only counts the URL and anchor the FIRST time it occurs on a page, which might make sense.

Either way, I doubt your site will go plummeting into oblivion because of this!

The links will be counted as one and by doing that you decreased the value of the link.
