I wonder if anyone has a favorite keyword research tool/program that can quickly and easily give search results and site competition for keyword niche marketing. I used to use Keyword Research Pro, but it has gone the way of the Dodo bird and I need a simple replacement for my sites.
Any suggestions will be well received.

I use SEOBook. It's free (you just have to register on the site).

Whatever you do, do not use SEObook.. Sorry to cut across you 2nd posted but SEObook is not what you would call a good KW tool.

Micro Niche Finder and Market Samurai are the best but they arn't cheap...

    Here's what I do.

I hire a guy at fiverr to use his micro niche finder to get KW's for me. He comes back with 80 or more KW's in my niche with the serach volume, competition and **the most important** strength of competition for each KW..

costs $5 and that is all the KW you will need in a niche.. I got one done for my gout niche and he came back with 138 keywords for me..

    Market Samurai

Besides providing you with all the necessary information about the keywords you're researching, it also allows you to instantly track rankings for each of the selected keywords, and spy on your competitors. It supports proxies, but most people don't need them (just make sure you watch the instruction videos to avoid a temporary google ban)

They roll out updates each day, so $149 for a lifetime licence isn't much. They even offer a trial, and if you take that, I believe you might be lucky and get the $97 lifetime licence OTO (however I'm not sure they offer that anymore)

Don't outsource keyword research like footbag_man recommends. Outsourcing other tasks works well, but I don't think you'll ever find gold nugget keywords that way, and you really should put a little thought into it and choose your own niche. They'll most likely keep the most valuabe research data for themselves anyway No seriously any marketer should at least do keyword themselves. It's vital to understand and should be the 1st basic lesson to be learnt.

    Good luck with it

I use the google keyword tool or the free keyword portion of Market Samurai for keyword research. For the competition analysis I use the free version of Traffic Travis. It works well for me.

  • I recommend Market Samurai! This is a fee program, has a very powerful tool. It is easy to use, but has amazing potential. I think is most helpful to look for keywords and analyze the market.

Google keyword tool works great with Traffic Travis if your on a budget. But I personally use Niche Finder works like a charm. I would shy away from outsourcing only because some people might return keywords they've sent out to 100 buyers before you. And if they find any hidden gem keywords they might keep them to there selves.

If you want something stupid simple and just gives you keywords to use straight of the bat, then I recommend Brad Callen's Niche Finder.

I'm using semrush for keyword research, and then check stats in google adwords, as its data a bit more accurate.
