I watched this video today about a guy who says he made close to a million bucks from one blog in the last 2 years

simplewealth.com/2011/11/30/create-a-profitable-blog/

He basically uses other people's articles ( with permission ) to create content and does interviews with leaders in the field.

This goes against everything I have heard about duplicate content which I always thought was a no-no.

Do you guys do anything like this ? Using other peoples articles which you can slot into targeted categories ?

I hate writing content but I love making cash from Adsense. If I set up an Adsense targeted site that used quality articles from the niche I decide to target would google slap me ? Is as simple as he says - just write an original intro before the article ?

Different strokes for different folks. Everyone has their preferred method of handling content generation. What works for some, probably will not work for most...

Have you thought about using PLR content, an article spinner, or hiring a content writer?

If you dislike writing content there are many options that you can use. Focus on your best, outsource the rest!

    Hi Beardo,

In my opinion it's a little trickier then we think. I run a daily gossip blog and a lot of the content is very very similar. I try to add a paragraph of editorial before I start in with the quotes, just to be on the safe side, but a lot of my competitors simply copy and paste entire articles from TMZ, People Mag, and haven't been penalized.

I say error on the safe side of things. Once you have a site making money and ranking then start another one where you can afford to experiment. A Google slap could put an end to years of hard work.

Well, having unique content on you site is always good but difficult to generate the uniqueness unless you are a writer and have enough time to do that. Well spun articles will give you good chance being ranked. Once the keywords that you have targeted are ranked then the income will happen. TBS is one of the good sources but the downside is it is not web based. There are other tools out there can give you a very good ROI for the unique content.

Duplicate content is content on the same site repeated on multiple pages. Example a typical Wordpress Category page repeating the actual blog post.

To generate unique and original content is difficult but having these qualities is good and best for the website to get traffic and rank.

Do you ever use the Google news site? Do you think it's valuable? Is it a good experience?

Can you find one single piece of content that google created on the entire site?

If you can present information in a way that users find helpful, that's all that matters.
