If content is king and backlinks are queen...

...does it ever make sense to offer to someone a high-quality article who only wants it if it is unpubished and never will be published elsewhere?

I ask because my sites have, in my opinion, very good content but very poor backlinking. I have multiple opportunities from people who have seen my work to write unique and fresh articles in exchange for backlinks, but many of them want original pieces.

Is it worth it, or should I just publish the articles on my own site? Of course I am updating my own sites with fresh content, I was just thinking about throwing the odd article to someone else.

yes, you're right.... unique content alone will not make you succeed fast enough. you have to build backlinks... when king and queen are met, they can build a kingdom ... your online business empire starts at that point

Definitely agreed to this. We can't just rely on content only, we should do something to give some more exposure which is known as backlinks. As a result, the "queen" will always help the "king" to get more peasants. xD

In my opinion, it depends on what site your article is going to show up on. If these websites are aged well established websites with traffic and high PR then I think it would be a win win for you. You get a strong backlink, exposure to a broader audience, and possibly even traffic to your blog in exchange for an article.

If the websites have neither high PR nor good traffic, then I would give it a pass.
