    I agree with smartfunit about on-page SEO. I've found many sites (while analyzing competition) that never even bothered to do on-site optimization. Yes, you will need quality, relevant backlinks, especially to rank well for highly competitive keywords, but take care of your on-page SEO first.

      Your pages will rank higher if they have good pr, what is a matter is relevance of your content if the content has good relevance to keyfrase you'll rank high at SE. You can read about seo in many places it's complex and not one day work.

    Build HIGH PR LINKS to your website, do a good work on ON page SEO, but more important... use only HIGH PR LINKS on OFF page SEO!
