What happened to the Content Network?

I had a site get slapped off the search network, but it ran on the content network with great results for about 4 months.

Then a few weeks ago my ad impressions dropped around 99% over night.

I figured it was a QS isuue.. if I increased my bids up to $10 or so, my impressions would jump again (until then, i paid on average 36 cents a click).

So I built a new site (new domain), this time making an actual effort to keep my QS up.

Everything is fine with the new site.. no slaps on the search network, minimum bids are all around 10 cents instead of 10 dollars.

BUT - my content network impressions never recovered.. they're still down 99% of what they used to be.

It shoudn't be a QS issue, seeing as how I have no problems with the search network.

So I figure it's got to be my competitors recently learning/doing something that I am still in the dark about.

a clue: some of the top content sites I got traffic from are now showing just 1 ad stretched over the entire leaderboard block, instead of several (it's still a text ad, not a banner ad).

Any ideas??

Has there been any new products launched out there over the last few weeks regarding the content network that I missed, and my competitors may have learned something from?

Or is someone just getting killer CTR, so google is giving them the entire ad block and I'm getting bumped off everywhere?
