Building Massive Amount of Links

Hey, Normally i wouldn't think i would have to do this but the sites that i need to outrank have over 100K links to their domain and 80K to the home page.

I need to know how they do it, my guess is maybe purchasing a couple ad's the the biggest sites in my niche and getting lots of site wide links.

Because to build that main links with normal link building would be insane.

So what do you guys think? what would be the best way to compete in this niche.

Thanks

Isaac

The most important fact you are over looking here is the time that your competitor's site has been alive. With time, anybody can make that amount of links.

However, if your site is new, I would start slowly and then build up as I go along.

As far as the best way, all the normal and usually backlinking strategies that everyone else uses are good to use. There is no secret system.

I wish you the best and remember, no matter how big your competitor is, you can get ahead if you truly work hard and commit yourself.

    Hey

Yeah time does play a factor, but my site isn't new new it about 4 years old and they are about double but they have around 10 times the amount of links i have. So they are still doing allot more then i am at the moment.

you have to check if the links they got are from sitewide, meaning blogroll/footer links etc. If they have a blogroll link from a website with 10,000 pages, then they will have 10,000 backlinks but all coming from the same domain is not that useful. It has to be from unique domain/ip to be strong.

    Hey Issac,

It's good to have links from big sites in your niche but honestly you also must ensure your links are unique. Having 5000 links from 1 site vs 5000 links from 5000 sites is significantly different.

Also don't feel you need 80k links to beat these sites. I have frequently overcome sites with 1000s of links using just 100-500 links. (I had a site on the first page with 50 indexed links while competitors had 1000s of links)

What you really want to focus on is the quality of links and diversity. I would really recommend some PR distribution as well google is getting good and reading social status so do consider that (that is what we find in our case studies several months back and have implemented that for our clients...great results)

What you want is a diverse and complete link building campaign. Some links that deliver volumes (such as directory submission) and some higher quality links such as High PR Links (Don't fall for the High PR forum profile links; that is frequently advertise but the PR is not on page and with a forum profile highly devalue it...still good to add some forum profile links as a link diversity)

Dude - I'm backlinking maybe 10 a day - and I'm moving up just fine. You don't need thousands to up your rankings.

The number of linking domains is more important than the number of links. Site wide links don't really count for that much these days, they certainly don't work as well as they used to.

Concentrate on just getting as many links from as many different domains as possible. And build up your social networks. Certain social signals count as links these days.

Also only a small portion of those links are probably anchor text links to the specific keyword...

You are drawing an entirely wrong conclusion that you have to match the quantity of the links when in fact a huge portion of their links may not be causing much of a bump. Quantity will kill quality in many scenarios
