URL structure help

Helping with the onsite SEO of my website and was wondering if there was a major difference between the following two url's as far as SEO is concerned:

onecellular . com /26-used-att-phone

onecellular . com /used-att-phone

I cannot posts links yet, so I took out the http part on front.

As you can see the only difference is the "26" in front of "used att phone." The company that designed the website says that it is the category number. my biggest competitor which is mobilekarma has a similar structure with the category number on it but most everyone else does not so I just want to know if that makes any difference or if either way is fine.

    That 26 in the URL is worthless as far as SEO goes.

    If you need a category name in the URL go with something relevant, example:

    hxxp://domain.com/att/used-att-phone/

      Worthless as in it does damage or as in either way its fine/makes no difference? I don't necessarily need a category, I was just wondering if the number there made any difference.

        It's not going to hurt anything, actually If your dealing with phones or anything with a model number it might help one or two pages.

        Hypothetical model numbers as page titles & URLs:

        • Used AT&T E26x Phone
        • hxxp://domain.com/26-used-att-e26x-phone/
        • Used AT&T HT263 Phone
        • hxxp://domain.com/26-used-att-ht263-phone/
        Still, this wouldn't benefit very many pages (If any).
