Is Scrapebox Worth It?

I can say from experience that Scrapebox (SB) is worth the price!

It is a powerful tool which helps me rank both my clients' sites and my own in Google.

Many think that SB is just another comment spammer, but it's not!
It has many inbuilt modules and useful addons to help with:

- harvesting and scraping urls based on your custom footprints
- checking page rank
- estimating traffic volume with alexa addons
- blog commenting
- pinging
- rss submission
- rapid indexing and many other things...

So, if you are in SEO business (or just wanna earn some cash by selling links), this tool is a MUST.

The use of this is something else, but it does take a few days to get used to it, but word of warning dont do scrapebox spam ---> money site, might not be the results you expect. I would not use the auto comment tool unless you really know what your doing, as the last thing you want is a back link from a site that has auto approval and has been spammed to death, find decent edu and gov sites . just to throw something out their for you guys in the states , a.c is the equivalent of your edu in the UK and yes the link juice is just as good or not better.

From what I've been reading, there is a lot more to scrapebox than just autcommenting on blogs.

I've also read that many folks like to use virtual private servers with SB. Why is that? Why not just run it off of your own computer?

Because, if you're a heavy user, it's going to eat up a TON of bandwidth. Light users may not need to worry as much. But even then, a VPS may potentially give you better speeds.

Scrapebox is an awesome piece of kit in the right hands but without learning how to use it first it will have a negative result on your sites.
As someone has already stated, you need to find sites that have not been spammed to death.
You will also need good proxies.

Scrapebox is also really HOT for "stealing" your competitions links. Doing back tracing on their links is very easy with SB. You can filter almost anything, from blog formats, follow/nodofollow/captcha etc. And people are making "Free Addons" all the time. It's an epic tool.

I thought about getting a new computer with some serious processing power, dedicated cable line and running SB 24/7 once upon a time. Found out it was cheaper to hire an outsourcer... :-p

JSProjects has the right idea...

You can sell the lists you scrape as well. As well as keep your 'go to' house list for personal use only.

I've used scrapebox to slowly build a list of about 100 PR3-PR6 PAGES with {dofollow} commenting and auto approve that scrapebox can post to. This little list of 100 links though took me weeks to build, I'd go through 10,000 URLs to find 3-4 that were worth keeping.

In addition to that I've used scrapebox to build a manual submission list — ones with captcha code and the likes. Its only 25 or so URLs long, but it makes it extremely easy to get a handful of quality backlinks for every new page, or site you throw up utilizing scrapebox.

You can also use it to get views to EzineArticles and some other 'shady' practices.

Finally someone who understands the value of Scrapebox, and how hard it can actually be to find quality URLs. I've got a go-to list of DoFollow URLs as well, and it took FOREVER to build. Sure, it's easy to find a ton of overly spammed posts. I can build a list of 100k of these pretty quickly.

The hard part is building DoFollow lists. DoFollow + auto approve + not spammed-to-death is literally like finding a needle in a haystack. Moderated URLs a little bit easier but still require a lot of time and bandwidth.

Wow, it looks like there are a lot of positive uses for scrapebox, especially for finding high PR pages to post on!

Thanks for clearing up why you would want to use a VPS. As far as using up bandwidth goes, what's so bad about that? Would your ISP charge you extra? Couldn't you leave it to run at night while you aren't using the computer if it slows down browsing?

Yes you can use scrapebox on a VPS. I use them on a VPS for quite some time now. Alternatively, you can install a Windows Virtual Machine on your Mac, but i think it's more efficient to have it on a VPS.

@OP : definitely worth every dime! only use them on tier 1 or tier 2 links, do not use SB directly to your money site. It helps "power up" and indexing your backlinks quickly.

Scrapebox is one of the most valuable SEO tools on the market today.

However it is expensive to run.

My set-up costs me close to $300 every month, granted I am a service provider. A decent set-up will still cost you at least $100/month.

If you aren't willing to invest in the monthly set-up don't get it. Do it right or don't do it at all.

To run it properly you're gonna need a VPS and Private proxies.

If you use scrapebox on any sort of level, you're going to need to invest in these.

The program is very resource intensive and chews up a lot of bandwidth.

When I first got the program when I was harvesting URLs and checking links I got banned from my ISP from sucking too much bandwidth because I was running it on my home line.

Also if you use public proxies you will get tons of failed submissions/scrapes as these burn out fast.

So a decent VPS and 10-25 proxies will probably cost you about $100/month.

Proxies basically hide your IP address.

If you post to all these blogs without one, you will get be flagged as a spammer and be banned by a lot of them rendering the tool useless.

If you're using it lightly you can probably run it from your house with the help of 5 semi-dedicated proxies and a ton of public proxies. (SB will eat through bandwidth QUICK though, so a VPS is wise if you've got a cap on your bandwidth.)

No need to spend that much on proxies.

Buy proxies for scrapebox, xrumer, twitter| where to buy proxies

I've been using them for a little over 6 months and they've been great. I believe the semi-dedicated proxies are shared between just two people & for different purposes. Fast and cheap. If you're a light user you can definitely get by with 5 proxies for posting.

I paid the one time fee and have been using it without the added cost associated with VPS or private proxies. My intent wasn't blasting so much as it was quality niche linking so going with public proxies (with some manual submissions) has worked for my needs.

Wow, I didn't know that your ISP would ban you if you are using too much bandwidth! So, I'm taking it that running it on a vps would us the VPS's bandwidth and not my own? Is there a way to configure SB to only use a limited amount of bandwidth?

Also, what's the difference between free public proxies and paid private ones? I thought a proxy was a proxy, but that doesn't appear to be true.

No, scrapebox is crap, it will cause google to penalize your site. Also the author is a thief, I paid for the license a few months ago, then he deactivated it for no reason, I sent him multiple emails and he never replies.

I've owned it for like 2 years and guess what? My license still works.. So no, they do NOT deactivate your license for no reason.

I 100 % agree with Whos That Guru! The service is good and legit. NO deactivation until the software has been stolen or for any other serious reason (like abusing their terms and rules). The support is responsive (it usually takes me 12 up to 24 hours to get a reply).

Proxy providers charge by the month to use their proxies.

They can be anywhere from $1-3 each depending on the quality of the proxy and the quantity you purchase.

Same with a VPS, you need to rent the server monthly.

Yes running it on a VPS will use the VPS's bandwidth and not your own. Essentially you are connecting to a remote computer, so it does not use your home bandwidth. This is why you need a VPS.

There are many VPS services that offer unmetered bandwidth.

If you use the Scrapebox "Link Checker", just watch the bottom of the application and you will see it rips through a TON of bandwidth.

Of course every ISP is different, but if you run it on any sort of scale, you're probably gonna hear from your ISP provider soon.

There is no way that I know of to configure bandwidth limitation on Scrapebox. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

Public proxies tend to "die" out as there are so many users using them, so unless you want to spend half the day hunting for proxies that work, you're gonna want to switch to private. You will also see your posting success rate go way up with private proxies.

Private proxies will be specifically allocated for your use only (assuming you go with a reputable company), so they should always remain up and running.

OK? And I'm telling you that if this DID happen there was a reason for it.

They dont go around randomly deactivating license keys. If they did it, you must have done something to make them deactivate your license.. Simple as that.

They dont need to steal your money.. they do just fine as it is.

I don't want to argue with you, the fact is after about 3 days of my purchase, the author of scrapebox deactivated my license without refunding my money, and then refused to communicate with me, that's called stealing in my opinion. You may have a different opinion, that's up to you. I'm just telling what happened to me, and you can form your own opinion. or even better, if you are so sure of scrapebox, maybe you can get him to answer me right here, why did he de-activate my license, because I sure can't get an answer from him.

Also, you can tell him if I don't get my license or money back, I'm going to create several sites with the word "Scrapebox is a scam" or "scrapebox steal your money", and rank them for the keyword "scrapebox". Just for fun.

Its the best tool available at a reasonable price.

VPS is the best way to utilize this excellent software.

It has hundreds of uses. Here are just a few

* Check the Page Rank of Thousands of URLS in minutes
* Find High PR Blogs to comment on manually
* Check thousands of links to see if your SEO guy really added your backlink
* Blog comment automatically
* Scrape data
* Search and find other websites in your niche and email them perhaps asking to trade links

I totally agree with this. I did buy scrapebox, and even later I did buy scrapejet. And found out that scrapejet create always the same links.
I made a complain about it with them, and after I did NOT receive support, I did make a complain with PayPal, and they refunded my money for ScrapeJet. But to my surprise I found out that my account was blocked for use fr scrapebox. I also send several email to ask the person behind scrapebox to activate MY program. But he is NOT responding anymore, and scrapebox is NOT working anymore. Maybe they have something to hide? I do not know. My advice. Just make a good website. The traffic will come.
Do NOT buy scrapebox or scrapejet .....

Sucks to hear about your issues with their support.

But I wouldn't say not to buy SB. Even if you never touch the fast poster it is WELL WORTH the $57 for the sheer number of tasks it can automate.

Thanks a lot for answering my questions.

I see what you mean now about how proxies differ between public and private proxies. However, I don't know what you mean about the proxies "wearing out" from a lot of use. I know that they don't really "wear out," but they start to get blocked or something.

Who blocks them, though? Websites, search engines? If you are commenting on different blogs, than I don't understand how proxies would affect your posting success rate?

I apologize for the confusion. When I mean "wear out" I'm talking about getting blocked.

If there are tons of people using the same proxy to say harvest from Google, eventually Google begins to block them (require captcha) and thus the proxy will "fail".

The proxies could also be bad when posting for example if they are slow and time out (too many connections running through them) or they are blacklisted by things like Askimet etc.

Scrapebox is really really worth it if you know how to use it.

I use it to manage my list of URLs.
I use it to make money on the side by offering blasts.
I use it to find specific sites (blogs, social bookmarking sites, forums, etc)

Scrapebox is definitely worth the price if you have Private Proxies with it + lots of time in your hand because learning Scrapebox and then using it definitely needs a lot of time. It'll also occasionally crash on you when handling huge lists or project but once you find out how much powerful that software is, you won't care about it's bugs (which regularly gets fixed by the team).

Wow if you can get a site deindexed in Google why not start a service here helping webmasters de-index their competition from Google, I am sure you will be laughing all the way to the bank .

One a serious note, I believe Scrapebox is one of the most powerful tools and it should be a part of every marketer's arsenal. It so much more than a blog spamming software, even the free addon's are worth their weight in gold. These nifty little addon's programs (which are free for Scrapebox owners) can save you a lot of time.

Some of my favorite addon's are:

1. Scrapebox Alive Check: This program checks whether a site is online or dead.

2. Scrapebox Malware and Phishing Filter: As the name suggests it checks the site for viruses and malware.

3. Google Cache Extractor: This addon shows when the site was last crawled by google.

These addons are a great help in cleaning up any kind of list you Scrape.

Like most programs, Scrapebox too has a learning curve, but if you spend a little time trying to master Scrapebox, you will save a lot of time in future. And time is money, so buying Scrapebox is a no-brainer for me.
