Ban from the forum or the affiliate website?
Let me try to answer both. In affiliate generally affiliate companies do warn their affiliate marketer against spamming to promote their links be it email, forum etc. The best thing is to look for the tos of the company you're promoting their service and follow the best practice.

For forum, there is no Forum I know that accept that unless is the context of thread say some ask for the service or product.
Best thing to do is keep your links on your signature.

I meant banned from the aff program, if i get banned from a forum i'll just make another acc lol. I saw someone posting raw Amazon links, i though i should try this myself. I don't see anything in the Amazon TOS in regards to this, but i think it did say that one can only post aff links in a site owned by you.

If you get banned you will just make another one? In other words you just want to SPAM the forums to death? Wow. I don't think anybody thought of this before you. Sounds like a complete waste of time - time you could spend on a more productive business model.

No, i will not be spamming. I have a couple of forum accounts that are meant to contribute/fun and i have thousands of posts. I DO NOT SPAM. I simply threw out some legitimate recommendations and i got some sales out of it (not much money). What i want to know is if amazon likes this or not. Does anyone else do this?

If it's a vbulletin forum don't automatically assume that the comments that include affiliate links are from regular forum members.

I belong to another vbulletin forum in my niche that runs a vbulletin script/plugin that picks out keywords in regular member forum post & converts those keywords to Amazon & Ebay affiliate links for the webmaster, not the forum members.

If you have further doubt ask them, that is best.

I think the rule of thumb when posting affiliate links on forums is to mention that it's an affiliate link. Also provide a non-affiliate link for people to choose. In most cases, if people feel you're providing good information/help etc, they'll choose to click the affiliate link.

I was the one who had the link in my signature. I was testing something regarding links from forums.

The idea was to see if I could rank a raw amazon url with my affiliate id in google.
