Do you think Google uses the same algorithm for your site?

I think there is a miss conception tht Google uses one algorithm for every site. I believe that there may be a base algorithm, but then there are a few hundred other sub-algorithms they use for different sites. I don't know how they determine which pieces to use for which sites, but that is what makes it so complex and so hard to figure it out.
It is also the reason you can't just say here is a formula and apply it. You have to study what others are doing and experiment.
