Automation Dead?

With the Google penguin in place, does it mean that automated backlink builders are already useless? If not what could you suggest in order to make such software effective?

    Automated links DIRECTLY @ your site has been dangerous for awhile. In my experience they still work for tiers. But definitely go for quality over quantity when linking to your site.

    until google can detect the use of automated tools I'd say no, not ever. not knowing how to use them well that's another story

    Depends on what you mean by automation.

    Just an automated tool that can post a link? That will never be dead. No difference in a tool posting a link and you doing it yourself.

    Or do you mean using an automated tool to throw 2000 forum profiles at your money site? Yes that is dead.

      Yes exactly, Things like forum profiles and mass blog commenting is dead, always build backlink for tiers in quantity, and quality for money site.

    For the best technique. Please do automated work to target the tier and not the main site. Build web 2.0 post manually that target the main site then use the software to target the web 2.0.

      Did any of you test that or just read around? If you test it what was the result, how those things affected your website?

      I use only SB huge blast and my website is fine and after the penguin update it get a boost in rising... so... please stop using automated tools and direct blast so G will go and look in the other direction... So we can keep on using this spammy, dead, gone, stone age tools and rank websites.

      This tools are never dead.

        Yes I have tested it. I used the example of forum profiles in my post. They don't work anymore, in my experience. Back in the day I could rank a site using only forum profiles. Not anymore.

        Now as part of a 3rd or 4th tier, I still use them, but to the money site as a way to rank the site, nope.

    Automatic process to increase back links is dead for now. But you can use automated software to see back links, competitor back links, SERPs etc. But please use wisely. I have tried traffic travis today to get some information about my site and Google just block traffic travis after some time, when I tried to find something in google it's asking for capcha saying that "There is unnatural links coming from your machine", please varify the word to prove that you are human!!!

    So don't do anything foolish with automated software. After all Penguin 1.1 is released.

      It depends on what and why your automating.

      If you're using software to blast spam links then this is dead as you will see no worthwhile results.

      If you have a strategy where you're not spamming but the use of tools helps speed things up then this is good.
