I'd probably go ahead and remove your keywords / niche from your post. You're opening yourself up to a lot of unwanted competition.

For traffic, it seems most effective to use you name and not put a link in the past.

Since Panda and Penguin does the anchor test need to be varied? If bloggers don't like you using a keyword for your name, what do you use to vary the text?

Blog commenting is only good if you provide really usefule comments for the readers. And it should be something like "Thanks for sharing awesome info" or "Great info" etc.

Try to give some more info about the content with your comment. So that it will attract user and this will get some visitor to your site.

yea i think also that you get traffic from commenting on blogs and this traffic tends to be interested in your niche as well. So that in addition to building page rank you're also getting more eyeballs onto your site.

I've been engaging in blog commenting for a while now. It seems to be very effective even after the penguin and panda updates.

Make sure you use relevant anchor text. You also want to make sure your comment is longer than 2 sentences. Don't just say "Hey good article." That will be represented as spam and your comment could get deleted.
