I am an owner of a webmaster forum named WDP forum. Since 6 months I am building links on several webmaster forums such as geekpoint, digitalpoint, webicy, webcosmoforum and so on. But my forum's PR is not increasing.

Can you guys help me out? What should I do now?
#links
  • Add a blog to your forum or write a few posts related to your niche. Leave comments on blogs and set up profiles on social networking sites. Posting on forums is useful, but you need more than that in order to increase your Page Rank. Write guest posts, distribute content to article directories, and get links from reputable sites.

    Follow mrsvirtualassistant advice,

    You should have good content on your website.Nowadays Google is giving more score to fresh content than any other factor. Also, I see that your Forum is not SEO friendly work on that to make it ranked easily.

      Don't depend only forum posts but apply few more link building techniques to increase page rank.

      * Web Directories
      * Social Bookmarking

    You need some diversity in your link profile. Also it is not about how many you need but where they come from.

    There are lots of things to do man...? Not just the forums postings are enough and on the other hand you will go with the quality of link not just quantity of links that you trying to make. You should do directory submission, bookmarking, blog commenting, article submission etc. Seo is not just about the forum posting all techniques are important and useful so you will have to do something if you want success.

    No one can tell you the no. of backlinks which required to rank the site. Backlinks are important but search engine gives preference to quality links. While ranking the site search engine not consider the backlink, it also consider content, domain age and other things.

    It's not always the links that matter to get a higer PR. You need to have good content and you should try other strategies like social media marketing, article marketing, etc..

    Could you please tell us why are you interested in having your PageRank increased? How is that helping you?
    Link building should be directed at gaining visibility in search engines, NOT to increase your PR.

      The better answer could be Google search engine because the link value passed by search engine. so there is no such description how many links you need to build.

        Google looks at two things. Content growth and unique IP backlinks growth over time. I was able to move a brand new domain from PR0 to PR4 in 3 months. The key was drip feeding new content daily and contextual backlinks coming from IP diversity. Stay away from article directories as they leave footprint for Google to follow.

    Get your link on other high PR pages. Also try to get some .gov and .edu backlinks (avoid spammy blog comments and low quality profile links).

    I moved my PR2 blog to a PR5 by getting my link on a PR6 .gov page... it's my "secret" sauce! So I use that page for all my websites now and it's moving all my websites up in PR! =)

      Beside forum posting, I guess you should try to submit articles on article directories. I know that writing article is very tough job, so you can hire some article writers to write articles for your forum and submit those articles to very popular article directories such as ezine articles

    You dont have to worry on this. The only thing you will have to do is to increase the visitors of your website. Once you have genuine conversations happening on your forum, more and more people will visit it. Also, write discussions with phrases that people may use to search. This way there are chances for you to get your forum ranked in Google for those phrases.

    PR does improve automatically and it depends on certain factors and since your website is a forum, you must be getting it soon.
