Hi All,
Please tell me that which is better for SEO ,a new page on a subdirectory or a subdomain? and why?

    hi,
    From a SEO perspective subdirectories are much better as they are seen as folders within a root directory and will share the hard earned page rank and link juice. The page rank and link juice diminishes as you go deeper into sub directories so it is best not to create too many directories within directories.

      According to me, you can create page, it will bets for your business, like you have one product "laptop" and you want to create a page for that, can do like "yourdomain.com/laptop/" here you can show your all products.

      and if you like to create subdomain, you can. but i like folder and pages.

    It entirely depends if you are writing a blog then subdirectory would be better then sub-domain but if you are creating a webpage for particular webpage then go for page rather than directory or sub-domain. If you are creating forum then sub-domain would be better idea.

      According to my knowledge sub directory is good. Because the page which you have created is after domain ie. abc.com/xyp.html, so we can index it faster and also link juice get this page.
      But in case of sub-domain, lot of efforts required to promote.

    A sub domain is basically like a new domain. None of your link juice gets shared between your root domain and the subdomain. So if it's just one page and not a completely different aspect to your site, like a blog or web shop, you should stick to a sub directory.
