Newby here so if this question has already been answere please don't kill me (I tried looking). First can someone in begginers terms tell me how I get a backlink that I have on another site recognized by Google? Then how do I know that Google has now recognized this link? I have a couple links on high PR sites that I am not sure if they are indexed (if that the right term) and would like them to be recognized by Google so that my PR will go up. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you can check if the pages are indexed by using footprint "site:webpage address" and you can create a few backlinks to your backlink to get them indexed..

If you ping a web page that you backlink is located on does it get your backlink indexed? Hopefully that makes sense...

Or should you ping a web page with your backlink on it?

It is important to understand that there is no definitive way to do either of those things as Google may recognize links to your site, which they used to evaluate your positioning without indexing the page which they are on.

There is no way to make Google recognize Backlinks in order to boost your ranking positions for off-site SEO purposes at this time so your best bet is to stick with creating Backlinks on high PR sites which typically get crawled much more than focusing on the results of the lack thereof to determine effectiveness.

The backlink I have is on a PR7 site in the blogroll. The site is also related to the field in which my site is in. Should this help me get a better PR?
