Backlinking to Google Local / Places?

Has anyone tried backlinking to a Google Places page and gotten any results?

I am really thinking of trying this with an outsourcer I use.

I backlink to youtube vids and it has great results, why not try local and places?

    Yes, local links only though, I don't like to backlink worthless links to my place page. Aim for backlinking from local companies with their address somewhere on their site.

    Just link the company social media and other business profiles to the page. Make sure there's a link to G+ Local listing on the website, too, to ask for reviews. That's all you need to do.

    Linking to it any other way doesn't look natural and there are far better ways to spend your time for G+ local ranking results than throwing links at the listing.

    IMO, if you have a local business then it would be great to register your site to Google Places so that your visitor will know on how to get in there at your place. Aside from that its practical and easy to manage.

    You can go to citation websites rather than creating backlinks as citation helps a lot in getting your local listing on top position. You need to complete your profiles a try to get as many reviews as you can.
