      Its just too bad that after the Google Penguin some of the link building strategy is already a spam strategy. However, there still some that we can use to avoid the Google Update. One of way would be social bookmarking and guest posting.

        I don't think bookmarking your money site would do you any good. However, bookmarking your tier 1 or 2 sites could help in serps

          Bookmarking the money site will help get it indexed and such but it def wont improve rankings unless bookmarked regularly then it does help SLIGHTLY.

          However Themsplice is correct. Bookmarking those tier 1 and tier 2 links will def help your serps. But again you need to do it more of a drip feed technique. Not just 1 time.

    The consensus seems that the old techniques are still working with some modifications. Last year we had SEO proposals from 10 different companies and they all had listed their most successful cases and the keywords their clients were ranking on. I analyzed all of these recently and over 90% of these clients have lost their ranking on these key phrases. So clearly old techniques used by SEO firms are not working

    While i agree with most of the posts here, one that i dont agree with is the blog commenting. this has died as many of the blog software are no more giving do follow links. so if you are thinking of links that will get you to rank and position higher, forget the blog commenting. many people dont know how to determine weather a site is no or dofollow. check this video eric demonstrates how to find dofollow sites.
