hey guys, I want to buy a new domain and first I talked to my friends and asked for advice, but one guy says that using this domain will rank better, for example (my-future-domain.com) and othe guy says that this will rank better (myfuturedomain.com) the first guy says that google sees the dash (-) as an space so it will be as if my domain name is (my future domain.com) and the other says that (myfuturedomain.com) is better 'cause it's a strong phrase.
Wich one is better with dash(-) or with out spaces (withoutspace) ?
thanks,
John Zoritey.

    I'm here for you man!

Dash is better for SEO but it looks like a low-quality website.

No dashes makes it harder for search engines to figure out your keywords, but looks more legit to real people.

so, let me see if I understand: google will find you easily with dashes, but people prefer to buy in nospace domain names? Am I right?

Sort of, dashes are counted as spaces by google.

      Hiya,

Get a domain relates to your niche, design it with the content in such a way that can capture your audience. If you can even get one customer to visit and if you have really got something which will make them engaged to your site then surely that one person will start bringing others. In no time your site will be found.

What ever the site name is or link is as long as you have an engage customer poll with quality content which is of interest to them surely in no time you will be on the top.

      Engage > Entertain ( cater for ) > popularity

      Regards,
      Swrajit

Withoutdashdomain is better than withdash domain . I don't think that Google sees the dash (-) as an space.

The domain will not matter too much as long as your onsite and off site SEO is superb you shouldn't need to be worrying. I have read and heard google does like the dashes and will increase rankings. As far as scaring the user off a buying decision the domain won't have much to do with that.

    Best to your success!

Personally, without the hash (-) is much better than with the hash and it has a much higher perceived value. Have a look at domain registrars for domain names, you will notice that all the domains without the (-) go first.

That's true, I think I'll buy both domains but the principal will be the withoutspacesdomain and the domain-with-dashes will redirect you to the web with out spaces
      thank you! :0)

I think the "-" will be better because Google will know your keyword is "my future domain" while if you use "myfuturedomain.com", Google may think that your domain is just a word - "myfuturedomain"

I'd recommend without hyphens. whenever i see a domain with several hyphens, the first thing that comes to my mind is "this site must be crappy". if this domain is to represent your business then i'd suggest never to use a domain with hyphens. its easier to say "www(dot)myseobusinessmiami(dot)com" than "www(dot)my(hyphen)seo(hyphen)business(hyphen)miam i(dot)com". sounds too cheap!!

and it doesn't matter whether search engines consider hyphens as spaces or not. based on your content and backlinks, google will figure out what your domain means.

So to conclude, if you're going to start a legitimate website to attract repeating visitors then by all means go for the non-hyphen domain. if you dont care about repeating visitors then you can do whatever you want to.

EDIT: FYI Having hyphens in your domain wont give you any additional boost in the SERPs.

Only This is the better "myfuturedomain.com" always. If you do my-future-domain.com and optimize your site then traffic will redirect to myfuturedomain.com. so those who have this domain that person will be benefited.

I think the better is the domain with no dash and no spaces. You should get a domain that is related with your niche. One thing, make your domain good in on page.

Go without dashes. a domain name with multiple dashes make it low quality. google will consider it a spam site. so be natural and do not focus on high optimized domain name.

Without dashes, spaces etc.. and try to put your main keyword(s) first than you can put other words if your domain, at the end of domain.

Just wondering, Why is a website with dashes considered low quality or counter-intuitive?

As for human factor - better without "-", for KW strategy - easier to raise rank in SERP.

According to me google prefer original keyword,i.e with out dash...of course google gives value to both dash and with out dash, but according to me without dash looks more proffessional, and google loves it... and it tends to rank better.
