How Content Creators Benefit From The New SEO

I especially liked this tip from this Smashing Magazine post:

"Blog directly on Google+.
Earlier, we mentioned that Google indexes and ranks original Google+ posts. To take advantage of this, some "plussers" are actually writing lengthy original posts on the network. This strategy could be well worth testing, especially if you already have an active presence on the network. And it could work particularly well for photographers, designers and videographers, who can surround their visual content with keyword-optimized text."

Have any of you tried this yet? If so, what kind of results did you get?

Google+ has been more like a profile picture till now. But i dont see how this post would be different from any of the earlier google cousins like blogger, knol, youtube unless google wants to attribute more weightage to G+

well, i don't think it's supposed to replace youtube, but as for blogger/knol, I image you'd gain more G+ followers from publishing directly on G+, and that's a huge advantage!

    That's social, not SEO.

I bet Google would LOVE everyone to produce content that they own the rights to. We can all just rid of our websites and work on Google+ all day and let THEM keep the money

yea, i would never replace my blog with my google+ page, but it might not hurt to publish some original content on your g+ page every now and then.
