Interesting! Another Google Mess.....

How did he do it? He simply copied the full page, source code and everything and put it on a new URL on his site. He linked to the page and gave it a +1 and the result worked days later. He is a picture of Google's search results for the page using an info command and also searching for the title of the page:

    Google is all over the friggin place right now. It's a sad day when Bing is, IMO, providing better results. Let's hope that Bing becomes fully integrated into Facebook and gives Google a real run for their money.

      This is a quality story. Glad you posted it, its interesting to learn whats going on with search results. Hopefully google figures out these issues with dup content.

        Searchengineland has their own agenda...like getting people to
        link to them...

        Some people call it hijacking, some people call it doing something
        pretty useless. If you actually read the lame article, you see
        it's for a lame result.

        Lame article, lame premise, lame results. Like, um, who
        the heck is going to be searching for
        "marketbizz will help you to focus on your target audience"

        stupid thing is, serchengineland is now ranking for that, as well
        as I'm sure the WF will. And the whole experiment falls...

        Google does not hate duplicate content, which is the
        mythical starting point for the article. Google has never
        hated duplicate content.

        Who gets in search results at #1, reuters, AP, or the thousands
        of news sites that post the same article?

        Why searchengineland does such nonsense things is one reason
        people should regard them as exactly what they are. A business,
        looking to attract readers.

        Trying to do parlor tricks with google search always lead to
        ridiculous results and conclusions.

    I read that post the other day - was quite interesting to see how that can be done.

    What's even scarier is how easy that would be to roll out at scale - even if they shut it all down in a week it wouldn't matter!

    I doubt if it gonna stay there for more than few days. It takes some time to detect duplicate content and once it detected page will be out of google
