Let's say there is something I found that had 2,400 searches a month, and only 175,000 pages covering it. And let's say I had a domain that was Xbooks.com . Would that rank like an emd or no? X meaning term.

You need to look at the competition. Are the sites in the top 10 top level domains? Is the keyword in the title. There are a million factors. The number of pages in the results, however, is NOT one of them.

Also, it is a very niche topic. Matter of fact, it is a niche of a niche of a niche

Exact match? Broad match? What's the quality of the sites currently on the first page?

The EMD bonus is pretty much a thing of the past. Webmasters abused it, so Google took it away.

It sounds kinda like you are looking for a free pass into the #1 spot, but even in the EMD days that wasn't assured. The best thing you can do now is look at the type of sites ranking on page 1 and ask yourself if you can realistically beat them through content production quality alone.

Do some research and find Market Samurai. Watch the training videos they give away for free. It will help you understand this subject matter much more clearer then you do now.

Do you really find MS helpful?? I tested it several years ago and found it to be nothing more than a waste of time. It did exactly what I did by hand, only much slower.

Even I have doubts about Market Samurai, I don't think it is much helpful as also it is quite slow.

For newbies who do not have extensive knowledge about keyword research their free videos will work wonders in giving them a basic understanding of understanding the process of doing keyword research. The software is helpful. There's better tools out there.

EMD's don't work like they used to anymore. Panda and Penguin have taken care of that problem "mostly". While it is still advantageous in certain areas.... that's mostly because of over optimizing anchor text has put an emphasis back on your domain being the anchor in about 80% of the links to your site. So this strategy makes it easy for EMD's to begin with. But just buying a domain is getting going to help you one way or another.

There is a lot more to choosing a domain name/keyword than just the criteria you mentioned. I agree that you need to learn a bit more about keyword research first and then look at it again.

    Heres two tips.

    1. Forget about exact match domains - they're done.
    2. Forget about Market Samurai. That softare is done, too.

    2400 Exact monthly searches?

The 175K pages is completely irrelevant.

And let's say I had a domain that was Xbooks.com . Would that rank like an emd or no? X meaning term.
Both domains would have the same ranking power, ie: none.

btw, this question should have been posted in Adsense / PPC / SEO Discussion Forum
