What is the best Word Count limit For a Blog Post For SEO?

Yoast plugin says that 300+ words is enough. But some pro bloggers say that write a 500-1000 words posts.

There is no magic number for word counts.

Focus on quality, not on the number of words on your posts.

Please stop with this word count nonesense.

Well! No one can say that 300 or 500 words are enough but the best practice of blogging is depend on blogger how exactly blogger can perform on his blog. For instance, blog topic is about technical topic, then it won't be more than 500 but if we see blog in term of general topics, then there is no certain limit to write up. As result of this, blogging has no certain limitation.

Unique words are key, more unique words more long tail. You could have 20k+ words a page with the same sentence repeating, wouldn't mean anything. Obviously have the unique words relevant to the page don't write any old sh*te.

There are many websites that rank high with photos and short text snippets. The word count is irrelevant.

You need not provide importance to the word count.Write content for visitors and not for google or other search engines.Don't focus on crap google updates and lose your quality.

Word counting isn't SEO, stop following the nonsense plugins.

It's amazing how many people fall for that junk.

The number of words you need is relevant to the number of words required to inform, educate and add value to the user.

This could be 100 words, it could be 20,000 words - really depends on the topic at hand and if you are trying to create 'the ultimate' page on the topic.

    You're confused.

Counting has nothing to do with ranking pages on any SERP.

I hate to say this but word count really does not matter.

Make your post valuable. Speak to your target audience. Fill in their need. Make your post so useful that it cannot be ignored. Make your readers so thankful that they cannot just leave your content without sharing it.

I disagree a bit that word count doesn't matter. It might not be the highest factor in why a page rank but it's hard to say it doesn't matter at all. I think there are studies that exist that indicate that longer content ranks better all things being equal.

There is no such limit of words like 300 or 500. If you can convey your message in 300 words, then it is enough. But you have to write fresh and unique content. The content you write should be engaging and must be appreciated by the visitors

Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?
