Do Anchor Links Need htttps?

As the topic states, when you are gaining links do they need to have htttps in order to count as a back link?

For instance my site is registered as www.mysite.com, not just simply mysite.com.

If the backlink has just "www.mysite.com" would that be sufficient or does it need htttps as in "htttps://www.mysite.com"

It's https & no you don't need it on backlinks. The s is for securing pages (login, checkout, etc...).

Most sites don't serve secure pages, so creating a https backlink would effectively be pointing to a non-existent page/site.
