Amazon Links Anchor Text

I'm curious about what anchor text you use for your Amazon link.

Do you use the name and brand of the product, or do you use links in the sorts of: "this product", etc.

I currently have a website, which has a few Amazon links (health niche) where most products are [brand name], [product name], [something like 100 or 200 mg, etc]. This is the "template" I use for my Amazon links. Is it a good strategy?

    There are some Amazon scrapers out there, but I always end up using Google's Adwords Keyword Tool to make sure there's enough traffic. Use "product name" as the seed keyword, and there probably won't be very many that make sense that you can use as anchor text. Do not just overuse just one version. You can try Google's relevant searches at the bottom of the page for more ideas, and maybe Keyword suggestion tool — Google suggest scraper — Übersuggest

    My question was a more general one. Should my links let the person know that he is going to be referred to a site where he has the option to buy (by including brand name), or should I only use the name of the product (leaves more suspicion that the link will lead to a page with more info about the product, etc)?

      You might say that Amazon has the cheapest price and then write something like, "Click here to visit Amazon." Hyperlinking images is always good. As is something like "Click here to read reviews of the product."

      To be honest, your focus should be on producing content that is so good that it converts readers into buyers. It's all about preselling. As long as your content is good, readers click through, and you make sales you're doing well. Then you could starting testing different things, like varying anchor text.

        That's nice. Also, what should the featured images of the posts on my homepage be? I have 2 posts that have products as featured images and 2 posts that have topic-relevant photos as a featured. (My article types are informative - I start with the product and later on in the article explain why it works so good. For instance - I start with a book that helps you create an exercising plan, I explain how great it is, then I explain how exercising helps you lower your blood sugar, etc) I don't think that product-only will look appealing.

    Your strategy is good to use, you can use anchor text as anything related to product's keyword.

    example:-

    If the product name is "Advil Tabs Lil Drug, 200 Mg,6x2 Pk"

    Assume, you already created great content/review on it, now time to place a link for it, you need to take care of the anchor too.

    let the anchor text be "Advil Tabs Lil Drug" or "Advil Tabs 200 Mg"

    Anchor text which is related to the products heading or title or products keyword would be great.

    To get conversions for the link, content plays a major role here, i expect, that you create compelling content or review for it

    Make sure, that you don't overfill the content with amazon links, 1-3 would be great.

      Thanks for the tip. I guess I'll have to go experimenting for now. And I only place 1 link per article. I think that 2 or 3 would be too much. My content revolves around the 600-800 word mark.
