Hey,

Going through my reports (in Adwords) the other day, I found a high traffic keyword that is converting nicely. I would like to duplicate this keyword's success.

Now, I was wondering if I could get one of my family members to open an adwords account, and create another ad for this keyword. I would create a whole new landing page and a whole new ad, but promote the same product.

Has anyone done this? Is it advisable, or is it risky?

My business has been rather stagnant over the last few months, which is why I am looking for ways to take it to another level. Do you think the aforementioned method would be a good way to scale my business? If so, is it safe to use the same referral link, or should I create a whole new affiliate account (for the product I am selling)?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Brett

Rather than going through a friend why not just fire up a second campaign using your hot keyword. If it's conveting well now use the same site. Your fimiliar with if it's not broke don't fix it?

But you can't have 2 ads running simultaneously on the same account, especially if you're using the same domain...

    Thanks for the responses guys

dzoaffiliate, I don't actually want to split test the ads. I already know my ad converts, and I want to have two ads running simultaneously so I can get double the clicks.

Webdesigner, wow, sorry to hear about that. Did you do something similar to what I am planning to do?

You can do as you described. If you get caught, Google will likely cancel both of your accounts.

Why don't you just find a similar product that you can promote and then run that on the same keyword? This is allowed by Google, but you will need to open up a second adwords account under My Client Center to do this. https://adwords.google.com/support/b...l=en&topic=101

Hey thanks for the tip, I didn't know you could do this. This should be a great alternative if I can find a solid product in the same niche. Thanks again

You're doing what they will consider double dipping. Now, think about how many people thought of doing the same thing, but don't?

How well are you converting? Maybe you can create a second landing to see if you can even increase your CR. Now, also, you may be overlooking another keyword that may convert very well that you're not even bidding for?

    Try Googles Sktool

Ok there are several ways to make this better.

You could refine your keyword and add a list a negative keywords thus increasing your ctr and reducing your cpc. Look for similar keywords I prefer using the google keyword tool for that. If you find closely simila keywords add them to a new adgroup and track them.
Make sure you install google analytics to the right page so that google sees how much it costs you to convert your cliks into a sale. Google will then optimize your campaign for you.

Go to alexa.com and check for sites highly ranked for your keyword and add your add to the page if possible.

There's much more you can do but I'll stop here.

    Hope this was useful.

      Hi Brett,

I wouldn't recommend double dipping and risking your account. Google has a long memory and is very good at connecting the dots.

What you can do is use phrase matching to find every long tail that uses your root keyword phrase. Use other keyword tools to find every long tail that might be searched, based on that root keyword and create unique ad groups and ads for each and every one as an exact match. this will allow you to increase CTR while lowering your CPC.

You may end up with hundreds or even thousands of long tail variations which may get very few impressions individually, but 500 keywords getting 2-3 clicks a day ads up fast. With high CTR and low CPC your profits will add up fast too.
