Getting links to a Web 2.0 property, good idea?

Hi all,

Is it a good idea to use an automated backlink strategy to get links to a web 2.0 property, for example an EzineArticles page of mine? That page would then potentially get some traffic from the backlinks and the result traffic would potentially trickle down to my main site (link in the bio at bottom of article).

Is this a good strategy? I posted this in the wrong section and received a response that provided no information but advised this was very bad, so if this is a bad idea I would appreciate knowing why.

Yes,that's a good way to drive more link-juice to your site,in a shorter ammount of time.On the second tiers you can lower the quality of backlinks, but if you go too low and have no idea of what you're doing,u can easily get penalised or in the best case, google won't count thous links.
You should diversify your first tier platforms as much as possible with quality links, and then start building second tiers randomly.

It's certainly a good way to build some quality links and attract relevant traffic. And lot of SEO's are using same tactics with good results.

Yes it would be a effective strategy to build links to your web 2.0 properties. It will pass strong link juice to your existing backlinks. That will again improve the position of your keywords in search engines including Google.

So I would suggest you to do that as per your plan.

If you are using web 2.0 sites then you can easily do link wheel which would help a lot, there is no doubt to it, I would say but don't leave any foot print, I would say.
