200-300 hits per day from bots?

Hey folks,

I recently grabbed a PR6 expired domain. It was previously some kind of webdesign service. It still has lot of footer links on PR5 and PR6 sites. Nothing else though.. No blog comments, no article backlinks, nada. Only footer links from legit business sites.

However, I'm getting like 100+ spam comments a day + 300 hits. The site is only ranking for it's brand name (since all the backlinks come from an image that is in the footer).

I haven't installed GA, but hostgator shows this:

321 - 27apr.
284 - 28apr.
208 - 29apr.
301 - 30apr.

etc...

Where the **** is that traffic coming from?

        I completely remove the comment code from my themes/templates, it's not even an option to allow comments, that way I don't even have to think about spammers for the rest of my life, lol.

    I would say that if you are using Wordpress then activate Akismet plugin, it would help in removing spam comments..

    Choose Wisely which comments you need to be displayed...to avoid spam..I had this problem earlier as well...
