Is better to have banners or links?

Hello! Is late here, but i want to ask about this. What you think is better to have from a website? banners or Links?

Let's say that i have the possibility to take the both, so what you preffer, what you think that is better for seo? I mean only for seo, becouse for traffic sure the banners are the best, but for seo...?
I have checked one of my website competitors, and a lot of links they have are banners from other websites, i don't know if this they done regarding seo or to receive traffic, so what you think?

    I’m not totally sure what you mean by “banners” but I assume you mean banner ads? If so, I would say it depends. Assuming you had the choice between a link from a credible website that receives a decent amount of traffic and a banner ad on the same site, I would say that it might be better to get the link because you don’t have to continue paying for it and it helps your SEO (a banner ad will not).

      To add, You would prefer your links to be Editorial ones, in content. And not just hanging in a sidebar somewhere.

    Both but text links tend to convert Better when strategically placed in a blog post.
