Do automatic tools still work in post panda days?

The other day I was talking to one of the guy in IM who I know makes really good earnings month after months.

We were talking about IM in general and started discussing automation including automated link building tools, wp robot and other tools.

I was of the opinion that all auto tools are pretty much dead. He stated that they will never be dead because programmers are smarter and do come out with better solutions which by and large is smart thinking and still continue to use old softwares.

Without telling me which way he uses these software programs, he told me that wp robot, auto link creator software and article spinner are still working for him and generates thousands per month.

He also mentioned that google is not all the traffic there are thousand other ways to generate traffic if you think outside the box.

I know he has a big empire of websites, but I am curious if he is just hawkish and telling me lies or in right hand these tools still work?

Your input is greatly appreciated.

    hey sid,
    i think it´s a great question. i´m sure you still can still use these tools BUT (and that is a big but):
    the one or other update will hit you - google is after all these automation things that trick its system so it´s actually just a question of time until such a website is thrown out of the index.
    if you have 100s of sites you might want to risk it but honestly - in the long-run i don't think it will work. so it is better when you are doing it right from the start. make people link to you rather than trying to trick the system.
    after all, that is business which will make it into the future.

    I agree there are 1000s other ways to generate traffic. Google is only a small portion..

    Concerning automatic tools. Yes they still work.

    Backlinks are still major in the eyes of Google and tools that create backlinks will work until Google changes the way they do things.

    There's nothing wrong with automation, it's how you use it that matters. Yes, automatic tools still have their place in SEO and many people make a lot of money through ranking sites by using them.

      Absolutely agree.

      If an automatic tool is a base of your strategy then you might be in trouble sooner or later.

      But if you use these tools just to give you a hand in some sort of jobs, like for example mass

      Twitter accounts update or simultaneous update of Facebook and Google Plus pages, they can be a huge help and timesaver.

      I use sgwsoft just to gradually add some updates to my blogs, for updating my social network accounts..

      I just consider it as another pair of hands.

    Yes, there are many different ways to get traffic, paid traffic is an option if not free. Master the tools and completely understand it. They will always work if you know how to work it.

      Thousands of other ways to have sex? I'm a pretty open minded person, but I don't think I even want to know about most of these variants of sex (let alone experience them...)
