I was wondering if there is an auto link building software that works post penguin. This would be for a throw-away website. Does it still work and what would be the best one?

Most still work just fine for throw away sites. You can still get an initial boost with automated tools, but don't expect anything long term. Which doesn't seem to be a problem in your situation.

What kind of results can you expect? I just wanted to add a few links to each of 50 pages, slowly, to a niche website thats not to competitive. Is there info on strategies that bring the best results?

I always prefer manual link building instead by any software because it had been a proven method to increase traffic to your site, but it also ensures that your link will be placed where your target markets are.

Every automated link building software works, it's just the person that uses it needs to know how to properly use that automated software first.

Specially with the new updates, using automated softwares are much harder to grasp, there is no need to go blasting thousands of links. 1 high pr link can beat 1000 blasted links.

I prefer doing ALL the work manually. If there is ANY software that really WORKS, then there would be NO webmasters and everybody will just start this software and go out with friends... Most of these softwares create you some backlinks (*or many more -> like Senuke and ScrapeBox) ... But most times they are spammy and could even damage your website. Make a SEO strategy and follow it MANUALLY (according to me!)

I always prefer the manual work because the automated link will not survive most of the time. The comment links created from those software will be eventually deleted and you will come back to zero. Its better to build a few links manually that will last a long time rather than making many link which will last a short time.

According to me, manual link building is a great way to build high quality backlinks. because Google & most of major search engines don't like automated submission. May be your website go in spam by using this kind of automated software. So do only manual submission.

I still use Scrapebox to backlink my backlinks although since Penguin 2.0 blog comments have less juice in my opinion.

Its not really the software that you need to consider.

You need to map out a plan of attack and then buy software that helps facilitate that.

For the most part they all do pretty much the same thing (licorne is cheapest) but the tool you buy must be in line with your strategy.

    Spend time on that first

I prefer manual or semi-automatic link building. I find good sites to buy links from or to do link exchange with using SEO SpyGlass. Then, with LinkAssistant, I contact the webmasters, adjust anchors, URLs, control the status of links, and it work pretty well for me.

I use Linkfarmevolution and GSA Search engine ranker.

Linkfarm creates contextual links...to date the most powerful links I've ever used.

    Even my backlinks rank.

GSA has sooooo much variety. And domain/platform variety is important. Plus if you install it on a VPS it will build links for you 24/7 until you tell it to stop. You can also schedule campaigns and limit the amount of links it builds a day.

And neither requires a monthly fee, which is why my members love me for recommending them lol

I would think about whether you have the time and inclination to learn how to use complicated link building software (because it's all fairly complicated AND time-consuming) - That is the major decision you have to make really.

Low-quality links should always be automated because basically there aren't enough hours in the day for you to create enough of these manually to be effective. Higher quality links can be manually created and very often this is essential but again it's all about how much time you have to do these tasks and also what your budget is.

OP is referring to a "throw-away" site. So I doubt he's worrying about long-term rankings.

I think the best service is Link Emperor. It takes a while to set up your campaigns but all linking is fully automated.

I have run Link Emperor for 2 weeks on the soldier plan with 24 websites and already have noticed the alexa rankings dropped to 1/3 of what they started at, so it's looking good. I also believe making 30 second videos using Animoto is so easy, export them to parasites like facebook and YouTube and $5 will get you thousands of views from fiverr, also create a fan page and throw a couple of thousand likes, this will boost rankings, traffic and exposure in google.

I have to rethink my previous post here - Since this time I thought I should update you all on my experiences with Link Emperor - Absolutely disappointing. Below is a snippet from a recent email I sent to LE, I think you'll all get the picture

"I am emailing to express my disappointment at the quality of link building.

This link was the result of a link building effort last week on my dog training products website
          hxxp://bipochat.com/?p=22821

Please will you visit that site and tell me what happened here? Account suspended.
Another links to "armor games" completely unrelated to my topic or niche, with random spammy links placed here and there. Several other random links I checked from the link building show very spammy, disconnected and irrelevant links scattered all around the house like a mad dog's breakfast.

I would like to cancel Link Emperor service please. I have spent the past 5 days "Disavowing" links from my website in my Google webmaster account, links created by Link Emperor, which have been harming my sites. All these destination pages have NO page rank, and NO on page SEO, in most cases no keywords in URL, title, desc, content etc. So therefore there is little to ZERO benefit to my website, in fact probably more negative affect than anything.

Please can I have a refund of Link Emperor service as I am not happy "

So from now on, I definitely agree that L/E is harmful to your site and should not be used. For 150 a month your better going to fiverr and paying for a few HIGH PR edu/gov backlinks, a few good press releases and make some short YT vids using animoto, push views and comments from fiverr dudes and facebook page likes. This will get you way more ranking faster than LE turds.

          Thanks

Manual linking is definitely time consuming. Having a software to automate it is a lot better.

If the software seems a little costly, then try at "fiverr.com" backlinking services for $5.

I tried it and it does work in my experience.

Better do it manually, as long as you have make your onpage optimization perfect (or almost perfect) and you have a usable unique related articles for your niche, you only need a few links for your SEO process.
Manual linkbuilding is waste of time only for those who have a low quality websites, so they need to blasts hundreds (even thousands) backlinks.

They all do work... (GSA, SEnuke, etc)
The questions is how effective they are?
Main problem is that Internet is just over-saturated with those trashy links, so you either need to:
    1. build more
    2. build where others are not building
    3. build smarter.

The tools are OK, but ideally you use them in addition to other methods: high PR, social, buffer sites, etc

    Good luck!

Instead investing on automated link building software you should hire a freelancer for building manual links. You can make a check on daily link building activities and this would be a good option to stay safe from spam and any penality.
