Total links on Google Webmaster tool

Day by day total links that is being shown on my Google webmaster tool is reduced...

Sometimes back referring domains were 195, a week ago 45, today it is 32..:confused:

I had noticed that tool shows TOTAL life time data,, but this is weird....

What is your thought on it?

    My thought is that don't rely on GWT.
    Use ahrefs instead, you will get a better idea about your links and domains pointing to your site.

      Looks like it's a GWT bug: I've seen the same complaint on the number of other places. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon, so don't freak out.

    I have noticed the discrepancy of actual links to a site compared to what WMT says. I have noticed this on a variety of sites that I manage. I’m not sure why it isn’t showing all of the links or even the good ones but Google does say in its documentation that the tool will not show all links to a site. Your best bet is to look at referring data in Analytics and also use a third party tool to look at backlinks to the site. WMT is really just a free service to give you a general idea. Sometimes there is no data at all even though a site has hundreds of links.
