    Effect?

They got rid of many low quality affiliate sites, which is good, right?

All the good affiliate sites are still up and running. However, nikon4593bestreview.biz is gone

Please tell me one good affiliate site that got hit by Panda.

And "good" is not a site with 10x300 words articles, content bought from fiverr + stuffed with 4 affiliate links.

Talk about generalities. All 'bad' sites were removed and all 'good' ones are still there.

You are aware that Google is simply a machine running an algo? It can't possibly be right in every situation.

A simple binary Good v. Evil approach to dealing with algo changes is unhealthy. Many good websites were downgraded by the latest changes. That includes many sites with 'well written' articles. Google removes affiliate websites because they don't want the competition with their own products.

You are aware that Google is the largest affiliate in the world (DoubleClick) too?

I think you are way into conspiracy theory.

They just want to get rid of BAD affiliate sites because they care about their USERS, like you and me.

            USERS = MONEY

I understand that those updates can remove semi-good sites as well, but that's not the point. The point is to get rid of sh!tty sites that provide no or zero value to search engine users.

I'm not here to dis your theory, but IMO when I search something on Google I get much more better results than 2-3 years ago. And that's a fact.

Actually that's a completely subjective opinion.

The average number of searches that users made on Google in December 2012: 1,873,910,000,000.

Number of searches you made: a handful.

There's no way for any of us to do a few Google searches and then decide everyone who uses the search engine is satisfied with the results.

Here's an actual objective fact. Since the first Panda update was introduced, Google's share price has risen from around $600 per share to a current $877 per share. The fact is, their algo changes have added BILLIONS to their market cap.

In the U.S. companies have a fiscal responsibility to their shareholders to earn a profit. They DO NOT have any responsibility to searchers to ensure the 'best search experience.' That's just their PR story.

Someone who thinks like you is in grave danger of a real letdown when reality strikes and rankings no longer work like you think they should. It's not about good and evil or conspiracies. It's about money.

Want more? And this guy's site was used by Google Adsense to highlight what a good web site looks like.

          And you think that the "shitty sites" are getting sent down by Google - you need to look outside your niche before you claim that - search this example;

          24 hour loan overnight

My IP is in Los Angeles - take a look at the splog crap.

Google's results in our niche are worse now then they have for a very long time. We're still banking 400-450 daily, but that is much less than last year this time.

            Good?

7 ads per page is not good. It was a terrible 2 minutes for my eyes.

Please don't share this stuff anymore.

            Cheers

            Edit:

            24 hour loan overnight?

Those are spam keywords, you can't find a single good site for this query. This is exactly like payday loan which fulfilled with blackhat sites and SERP being changed on daily basis.

That guy's site is a pagerank 5 (not that that really matters but it's a signal) and his site has been a poster child from the Adsense Team for over a decade. You don't like that many ads - OK....but his content is REALLY strong and his readership is loyal. He provides good answers in video and text that solve problems for people. Doesn't get much better than that.

Regarding the keyword phrase you call "spam keywords" - we have merchants that have 24 hour call centers and will approve, and fund payday loans legally if the borrower is in a State where the usury limits are legal. Legal, legit, and real. Because this business model may stink to high heaven ethically or morally doesn't make it NOT REAL.

Fact remains - the spammers are winning right now, and Google's results are worse now than they were a year ago.

I believe you are not correct, but enjoy engaging

I'm guessing OP wants to know if the changes Panda brought are still in effect now, in 2013.

And the answer is yes, of course.

Google runs periodically a Panda "refresh" check. Here's a list of chronologically observed updates list: http://moz.com/google-algorithm-change

What does it mean to you? If you create a duplicate content website now (like an autoblog or whatever), you have a chance to rank... but only until the next Panda update runs and your site gets penalized and the traffic stops completely. It can be this week, next week or 3 months from now... the algo updates don't have a specific date, much like the toolbar Pagerank updates. It happens when it happens.

Is that answering your question, OP?
