Question : Links Building using Anchor Text

Hi there,

I have some questions that hope someone can guide me abt it. Would really appreciate it.
So i will shoot my question now.

1. Does it have any effect if my links building Anchor Text [Keywords] doesn't show on my target website? Will the effect drop if i did not put my target Anchor Text on my Target URL as keyword?
The reason why i ask this is my target URL is a online retail store so i feel that it's doesn't really look nice if we put those keywords on the footers. Which mean alot if we intend to rank a few keywords on google website.

2. Ok let's say if it really does effect it. What if i create 300 same anchor text backlinks through blogs, forums, Directory, etc. Will i have better chance to rank higher compare to other website that INCLUDE their anchor text in their target URL but maybe 250 or less same anchor text? Which one will rank better?

3. Does having more same anchor text backlinks is better than a good SEO friendly article? Even though i don't put any of the target anchor text in my target URL?

    1 - For pages with a small number of backlinks it matters a lot, however as you grow your number of backlinks Google focus less on what's on your website and more on what the web says about you(external factors). There are pages ranking out there with barely any text on them.

    2 - It depends. 300 quality links or 300 crappy/non-diversified/non-authority links? That makes all the difference.

    3 - Diversified anchor text is better. If I were Google it would seem strange to me that all links to your website have the same anchor text. The best strategy is to optimize for long tail terms while at the same time targeting popular terms.

    So link building is way important compare to articles in long term.
    No 3. is something that i learn today. Diversifited anchor text is better rather than having the same anchor text target at one site. but if really i need to create that much, i will have to do it slowly and natural right?

    One more point I might add is that once you have a good number of links to your homepage, think about some ways you can also get links to interior pages of your site, and that will help you rank for more keywords.

    As for the point you mention, you mean that instead of focusing on the homepage, i should also include some of the internal sites to increase my overall site?

    By doing this, will this increase my homepage rank as well?

      If you have links pointing to interior pages, those interior pages are "receiving" pagerank, and they then pass on pagerank to other pages they link to including your homepage. In addition, it's always nice to have additional pages that have links pointing to them as it helps you rank for more keywords.

    When you get backlinks to inner page, home page is not affected, but that inner page will increase in serp and you will get more targeted traffic. Is very possible that your home page contain only a short description about your product, and a inner page full details, so if you get backlinks to that page is very possible to get a greater rank then the homepage.

      I have found that google will rank your main page better with inner page rankings. It seems to bring up the whole site.

    Hmmm,

    What about blog comments? Which one will be better?
    Creating links in blog using anchor text or blog comment target sites using name as your anchor text? Since blogging will have much more backlinks, does it make sense?

    Appreciate someone can enlighten me on this?

    Hi mhuktar,

    From what i understand, as long as my blog comments are relevant to my sites [my target anchor text] it should be fine? I think what you say it's also true..if the links that you get from doesn't really link well to your site, they might feel that i am just spamming for backlinks.

    However i think getting these backlinks does help me rank well on that anchor text [my name] if i blog with the same name maybe 100 times? am i right to say that?
