Will this count as syndicated content?

I have a good few products up on ebay for sale with elaborate descriptions that I wrote up myself over a couple of days. I now have a small ecommerce site retailing these products within my country and was wondering if I were to copy and past my ebay descriptions onto my ecommerce website would google see this as syndicated content and penalise the site i.e. not let it rank for the keywords as good as if I just re-wrote all the descriptions from scratch?

Thanks.

    Byron,

It's tough to tell for sure... personally, I'm not convinced that Google cares all that much about duplicate content in the traditional sense (even though it's a widely accepted "fact" across the industry) - to me, it will depend on the authority of the site, links you build, etc.

However, if you want to focus on ranking your site more... you could take the guesswork out of the equation by making your eBay listing text an image... so the visitor can still read it and another version of the same text isn't showing up on both your site and the auction.
